How much can Theresa Heinz spend on campaign?
She said if the repugs went negative she would unleash her fortune. Isn't she limited to $2000 b/c of campaign finance laws or is there a loophole?

1. Isn't it also John Kerry's money?
Don't know what the property laws are in their state, but if it's community property, can't he spend as much of it as he wants?

Been wondering about this myself.

2. I could be wrong, but I believe it is her money and if spent on ISSUE ads
as opposed to candidate-specific advocacy ads, she can pretty much spend as much as she has/wants....

4. Don't forget Soros's billions that he has pledged.
And his lawyers are busy looking for loopholes in the law. The problem is that they will probably find the loopholes, and then the Reps can use the same loopholes too. Money always finds a way to get to the candidates.

Rules to start discussion threads in the General Discussion forum

7. Discussion topics that mention any or all of the Democratic presidential primary candidates are not permitted in the General Discussion forum, and instead must be posted in the General Discussion: 2004 Primary forum.

Mentioning the spouse and the campaign financing makes this a Primary forum topic.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
