A reply from Worldnetdaily.com on Coulter letter I sent.
Their reply to my email: They are beyond the pale.

Respectfully, Coulter got her facts straight, as she
documents in her column today. Thanks, for writing.

Subject:

Please remove the hateful column from Anne
Coulter about Max Cleland. It is bad enough
that this disturbed woman should have any
forum at all but that she would speak on
yours, well it makes me sick.

He gave a full measure to his country when the
current president and most of his party in
leadership positions either shirked or got
multiple deferments. I would appreciate it if
you would reconsider allowing a woman like this
to spew hatred through your outlet. It demeans
us all.

Thank you.

My name was here.

2. Thanks for writing your letter
However the bitch coulter is completely unapologetic and goes on further to substantiate what she said in the first place. She makes no amends here, but goes out of her way to show that she was right all along - Vietnam, and all who served in that war, be damned along the way. Her intent is clear.

Someone should send her, face-first, into Baghdad or Tikrit or Basra with the front lines so that she can see first hand what war is like. How so many soldiers are coming back with the same exact wounds as Cleland because of similar circumstances - we she villify them as well?

She is a hateful, spiteful, vindictive right wing shill. And any publication or tv outlet that gives her vitriol and hate a forum should be completely ashamed of themselves. Her words ring completely hollow and I'm outraged that that this publication continues to print her.

4. We don't call it "WorldNutDaily" for nothing
I look forward to reading a dissection of this column. Given her history of distortion, I'm sure the carefully selected quotes she cites will turn out to be conveniently edited or just plain wrong. And there's the usual straw man arguing. She's a sick puppy.

5. If Ann got her facts straight this time it would be a first
Looks like even she realized she's gone beyond the pale - should be an interesting time to watch her twist in the wind hung on a rope made of her own words.

6. I missed her on Insanity, could
someone give me a recap? I'm hoping Colmes expressed our anger at her for such a vicious attack on Max Cleland. It's sickening that her spewing of venom gets her gigs. There are rational, thoughtful conservatives (really, there are) but they don't get a forum because of whackjobs like Coulter who are better theater. And that's what Insanity is all about -- theater. His show is a carnival featuring freaks. How low we've fallen since the days of Murrow, Chancelor, Reasoner, Brinkley, and Cronkite. Now, the guys dominating the airwaves are uneducated, lazy hacks who blather their agenda for ratings.

7. Don't let those turkeys get you down!
Respectfully, Coulter got her facts straight, as she
documents in her column today.

Sure... but it's not her facts that anyone is objecting to. It's her use of the facts and her sneering implication that somehow he shirked his duty.

I wrote to Jewish World and received a response that questioned whether or not I am really Jewish and insisting that theirs is not an ultra-conservative publication (so obviously I was criticizing them without being familiar with their editorial policy to publish opinions from all sides of the political spectrum). My original letter implied that Ms. Coulter is the ultra-conservative, but I'll admit that perhaps I didn't make that point as clear as I might have.

Kind of typically, their editor is attacking the messenger by telling me that my letter used almost the exact words as several others they had received. I also don't feel that I should have to prove my "credentials" in order to have my opinions respected.

I wrote back one more time to (politely I hope!) inform the editor of the facts, but the good news is that they are getting mail about Coulter's remarks, the mail is not favorable, and they are "thinking about" not carrying her columns in the future.

Your letter is good. WorldNet's response is the problem. Let's hope that eventually our letters to these folks will wake up their consciences. I really do believe they all have a conscience somewhere.

8. Coulter's Definition of Hero
If I understand this correctly, Coulter's views are that unless you are wounded in direct combat, you are neither heroic or a hero. It does not matter that you were serving your country, your injuries or death were just "dumb luck." In my eyes, this makes all of the military members that died in training exercises or helicopter crashes victim of "dumb luck" and not heroes. (not a view I share) I also believe this sums up her position on everyone that perished on September 11, 2001, it was just "dumb luck." (also not a view I share). How long before the American people realize the insanity that is the GOP?

9. What chance did George Bush have of becoming a triple amputee?
I don't think it was common practice to have live ammunition around at political campaign headquarters in Alabama, and unless he stiffed the Columbians there wouldn't be any live fire at the coke parties either.

Hey Ann, Max had a beer in a war zone a few days after facing live fire in a large battle for which he received a Silver Star, while your hero was snorting coke and paying for his 16 year old girl friend's abortion.

Technically, and literally, Max is a war hero who made sacrifices for his country. The only threat George ever had to his life was whether he'd crash his jet while flying drunk, or choke to death on a coke spoon.

12. Slut
Lie or no, saying the horrible injuries he sustained in a combat zone, a place that Dubya was nowhere near, were of little consequence and could have happened anywhere was slimy and deceptive. Yeah, like little Georgy would be in constant contact with live grenades on a daily basis in his cockpit or in an office on base. She is a habitual and pathological liar. Bitch could use a lobotomy.

13. I can't wait for her newest article to get debunked too.
Face it, it's inevitable.

My step-uncle was on a "non-combat mission" when he sat his backpack down on a VC mine and got his legs blown off.

14. Just because someone can put pen to paper...
it doesn't make them a journalist. Just because someone has a comment to make, it doesn't make the comment worth publishing.
Making light of a severely wounded veteran, whether the wounds come from direct combat, friendly fire or a munitions accident is totally reprehensible for the writer and the publisher.

If they really don't have anything, they'll make it up.

They've got the likes of Coulter and Drudge; they're both good at it.
