...to run against the president in the middle of a war!!!!!!
And Eisenhower (R) against Truman in 1952 during the Korean War??
Poster idea?: republican treason goes back to 1944 and 1952
BETTER idea:
...statement by well-known republican (talk-show host, whatever) that to run against the president during war is treason
..and then list 1944 and 1952 with pictures of R candidate and what war it was (for all those a-historical Americans)
and then a really nasty-nice voice-over 'Really....?'

Wow. That is remarkable that people would honestly believe that participating in the democratic process is "treason."

2. Correction: Truman did not run for reelection in 1952. |
|
That race was between Adlai Stevenson and Dwight Eisnehower...

3. Since the Republicans want America to be at war always |
|
then it would be reasonable to conclude that they want power permanently, and want it to be considered treasonous to question that power configuration.

I believe that Wilkie ran against Roosevelt in 1940, prior to our entry into the war. The issue at that time was that Roosevelt was the first President to seek a 3rd term.
