Does Dubbya deserve a presidential library?
Discuss

Even Nixon and Reagan have libraries, would such a thing prepetuate the myth of Bush or provide valuable insight so that we say to our selves "never again"?

and "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" ...

However, I do believe you all are correct that Dubya's only writings would be the scribbling in his various coloring books. Perhaps we can dig up some old porn, hmmmmmm?

9. It's not a matter of "deserves"--he should be FORCED to deposit
every scrap of paper generated by every flunky in the WH and the cabinet. It's likely that Bush*'s own contributions *will* be useless, but I want documentation of every decision, every meeting to be placed somewhere for posterity. My choice for a library location would be a cave or bunker somewhere--nowhere nice. But should there *be* one? Oh, yes.

29. You're right, of course.
I've always wondered why criminals leave trails. But this ultra-secretive WH won't if it can possibly help it. Actually, that's why we probably need impeachment. Only if the whole facade breaks up publicly will there be a chance of people turning on each other and letting some of the truth out....

19. A library for Bush? It would be most ironic.
A library for a President who has openly and on more than one occasion admitted his aversion to reading and gaining additional knowledge? Imagine that. Why don't they just rename Camp David for him instead? As much as he and his father have "retreated" to that place during their Presidencies, it would be far more symbolic of the Bush character (i.e. cowardice, running away from problems and intense situations).

21. That's very funny
For all his shortcomings, Nixon had a lengthy career in government, from the US Senate in the late 1940s through the vice presidency to the White House. Sure, he was a crook, but in his own way he was also something of a statesman; at least he could identify the Soviet Union on a map.

A library for shrub is beyond laughable.

beyond a reasonable doubt that he can read or write ??

I would also caution that his library would need a librarian and they are not too happy with the Shrub/A$$crack Patriot Act.

I see no need to perpetuate this nightmare. Who needs a library full of lies ?? Well, guess it would be different.

It is a sick indicator of the decadence of our Republic that everyone (even Gerald Ford) GETS a museum to commemorate their presidency. I would love for a President--Republican or Democrat--to explicitly for-go this bullshit artificial "legacy" building.
