and job applicants.
Here's the deal. An early 50 something Financial former Drug Company Executive who was "downsized a few years ago" goes to interview at former Fortune 500 Drug Company because it's trying to find some "honest" financial folks to come back on board to give a good image to said company.
Four years ago, said "former executive" was given "the word" that "strict book keeping" was a "no, no" and therefore guy was let go with kids in high school getting ready for college.
"Former Executive" gets "start up" business for last four years and all goes South in Bubble Implosions. But, suddenly gets call from old employer. Goes to interview with nice suit, shirt and tie and gets a haircut. Walks in door and guy in jeans and T-Shirt is interviewing him because it's now "Thursday (?) Dress Down Day."
"Former Executive" is told that CEO of this MAJOR Fortune 500 Company is coming in for interview with "FE" and he shows up in sneakers with blue button down, Navy Blazer, and jeans. CEO is approaching 60.
Is this good? After all this isn't exactly a "Dot Com Computer Co. nor is it a "Creative Group" that this former executive is interviewing with, but this guy felt he was being interviewed by a bunch of old men wanting to be kids and he felt "out of it."
What the Hell is going on here? And, I know DU is filled with huge amounts of "creatives" who feel all folks should dress down, but do ANY of you have a problem with what I just described?
New Culture?
