I had to go to Atlanta today, On the radio this afternoon the DJ was going on about Rosie O'Donnell flying out to SF to get married. It was topic of the day to bolster support for the official defilement of the constitution against gay marriage. Here's the argument used: Rosie O'Donnell has overplayed the celebrity card, and no one cares about what she thinks. She's getting attention again, and the public is tired of it, so, BY EXTENSION, the protesters against changing the constitution are just making a big deal about this where they really don't need to. A lot of callers, even a lesbian, called in saying the gays and lesbians of this country should just leave the issue alone and not get in people's face about it. Unfortunately I couldn't call them, because I would have made the point that I also could care less about Rosie O'Donnell, never liked her anyway, BUT YOU'D DAMN WELL BETTER NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CHANGING MY CONSTITUTION! If no one really cares what Rosie does anymore, then why change the constitution to make it illegal for her to get married? If you are seriously considering changing the constitution to make a certain set of citizens second-class, then YOU LOSE THE RIGHT TO CALL IT YOUR CONSTITUTION BECAUSE YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT IT! It's mine, a-hole, not yours anymore! I WANT IT BACK!
