Haiti smells absolutely rotten. It's times like these that make me disappointed that the true idea of America has never come to fruition. I wonder about these so-called "rebels". Why the hell did they start kicking so much ass right after Otto Reich made a visit to the country. Might as well rename them "Contras." That's essentially what they are.

1. The stench of Amerikan interventionism
is what Haiti smells from.

No coincidence that Reich was there to kick it off.

2. Agreed.
Aristide may have had a chance if * had given him the aid that was promised.

3. You nailed it...
All one has to do to understand U.S. foreign policy is to understand that we strive to make the world safe and profitable for U.S. investments.

Aristide was fairly elected by a majority of Hiatians. His only crime is actually using some of his country's remaining resources to better the lives of Haitians instead of allowing multinationals to exploit Hiati.

The rebels were probably covertly sponsored by the CIA. This uprising is staged.

If this uprising were happening in a client state like Turkey or Israel, our troops would be in there quick.
