Slightly more than 1 in 10 people is unemployed or underemployed, or so claims the BLS http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t12.htm

That still looks undercounted, but that might be because my connections are mostly with the high-tech industry, where I'm sure the rate is 30% or more.

Jeez, 10%...1 out of every 10...in a country where we have no right to the necessities of life. And nobody here but you and I seems to care.

Thow in the homeless, those who are too young to bother to file for unemployment, people who work less than 20 hours per week and it's probably about 15-20.
