I predict the Oscars are gonna be VERY anti-Bush tonight
Billy Crystal will be awsome,we know that but the show's producer Joe Roth(no fan of Bush)says the WILL NOT cut people's speech ove rpolitical remarks & said he's anticipating the show to be rather politcal.I think last year people had to bite their tongues. This year they are just fed up.Let the bashing begin!

1. Will be interesting to see if the enforced time delay that was just
imposed on the program will impact their ability to express that.

12. Yes, they'll let them speak, but add a 5 sec laugh or boo track.
They only said they'd let them speak, not that they wouldn't add their own commentary.

2. Mike Moore didn't bite his tongue
And I admire that. I can't honestly say that I would have done any different.

I hope LOTR takes Best Picture. Viggo Mortensen is very anti-Bush (he is on the list of traitors at probush.com)

4. What instrument does he play?
Does he have any good anti-Bush songs?

As far as I know, he doesn't let politics into his work. It would be really cool if he did, though.

8. Traitors!?!
I'll have to check out the list. I try not to visit pro-Bush sites since my stress level is already high enough.

5. If Tim Robbins or Sean Penn win...
I expect them to speak out against the war in Iraq. The movie Mystic River is thematically very anti-preemptive. I don't want to give anything away to anyone who hasn't seen it, but I feel the resolution of the film makes a statement against lashing out at a perceived enemy without being certain of having the facts on your side. I'm sure Robbins and Penn see the connection. Hopefully they will win and use their speech as an opportunity to express this point of view.

7. I really doubt it will be better than 2003
Any protest now would be after the fact. In 2003 Hollywood had a chance to protest an injustice before it happened. There will be less impact now especially since the vast majority of Americans have put Iraq at the bottom of their priority lists.

The game is in the end stage. ABB is the message, additional criticism of Bush while fun and necessary is subject to decreasing marginal gains.

10. George Soros is on tonight on C Span 2 at 8 EST
I think I will watch him, and catch up on the Oscars later..nothing more tiresome then a lot of egotistical monologues droning on and on and on about how wonderful they are and thanking everyone from their dog to their therapist to their tax attorneys...

11. I hope they invited Howard Stern
Wouldn't Howard walking out onto the stage to say a couple of words about censorship be an exciting surprise for Clear Channel and so-called president Inept W. Moron?
