What the Hell Happened to The Plame Investigation?
It seems to have gone underground again.

I think I'm pinning too much hope that this case will blow the lid off Cheney's thuggery.

Sigh....

2. it depends on whos indicted.
If its his Chief of Staff, Cheney will have questions to answer. That would be too close.

if its just his Mideast staffer, there'll be some deniability.

4. I have been disappointed that there has been no media reaction
to Josh Marshall's February 22 questions concerning White House staff taking the fifth amendment. There was a very short thread on DU about it. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=1147439

I wish I knew whether Marshall had bad information or the media is trying to gather more facts before reporting on it. If White House staff are taking the fifth it will hurt Bush with a lot of voters who do not follow politcs.

6. After the Chretien government ended. . .
. . . a lot of information got lost. In other words, we may well have to Plame Canada.

7. Breaking News
For some silly reason, like not wanting to let the criminals in on what the investigation has found out, investigators don't discuss what the investigation has found out. But personally, I think it would be much better if they published every interciew with every witness the day they are questioned. This way, the perps will know what the investigators know, and so they'll know how to avoid committing perjury. It would be just terrible if those poor innocent perps were to be arrested for perjury

10. Dear Mr. Prosecutor By Jim Lobe, AlterNet

Dear Mr. Fitzgerald:

Please forgive my presumptuousness in writing to you, but as a concerned citizen I could not help but notice that the White House has been less than cooperative in your efforts to identify the source of the Plame leak. I think I may have a solution to your problems. His name is Clifford May.....

Here is a possible way out of this thorny dilemma. There is at least one person who knew of Valerie Plame's relationship to the CIA even before Novak published his column: Clifford May. He is the president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), a non-profit organization founded two day after the 9/11 attacks that, in its words, "conducts research and education on the war on terrorism." More importantly, there is no reason why Mr. May should have known about Plame's CIA credentials, nor did he possess the requisite security clearances to do so.....

Mr. May has not been coy about sharing his knowledge of the Plame's CIA background. On Sept 29, the same day that the Washington Post confirmed that the CIA had asked for a criminal investigation of Novak's sources, the National Review Online published a column by Mr. May claiming to be in the know long before Novak blew her cover. "That wasn't news to me,"
