Medicare prescription drug question - again
A colleague just told me that there is a LIFETIME patient drug payment limit of $3000-$3500.

...that the media did a very poor job of explaining this

...it's to Ted Kennedy's political benefit to have people confused and angy.

He said he has a good friend who's an administrator (of Medicare, I assume) and who KNOWS the facts.

What do you know about the changes and can you provide a link?

(reporting in from OK)

1. It is very hard to get info on this disastrous bill. Here is a link.
Some of the worst parts are what you mentioned, the cutting of cancer care, the dropping of seniors who already have drug insurance from their former employers, the stupid "cards" that provide almost nothing and so on.

This group is working hard against this bill. They have now formed a discussion board, and they are one of the few groups fighting the bill which was made to destroy Medicare eventually.

2. Another DU'er and I are attending a community meeting
About the Medicare prescription bill this Saturday in San Luis Obispo, California. A representative of the AARP is gonna 'splane it all to us. Hip, hip, hoorah. :-(.

I am trying to get together as much information on this as I can as there will be a question and answer period. I need all the information I can get and maybe some questions to ask. So far, the only two good sources I have been able to get is from Howard Dean's website and the Physicians for a National Health Plan website and these sources haven't picked it apart that much.

Any help from DU'ers here?

3. See the link I posted in my post above.

They have a lot of the thousands who dropped out of AARP when they endorsed this fiasco. The site has a lot of good info.
