1. 55 is a $12.3B bond to help renovate schools;
56 brings the budget approval requirement to 55%, on par with the rest of the states
57 is a $15B bond to pay off the deficit, proposed by Ahnuld after whining about the Lejjyslechur reaching for the credit cards at the first opportunity
58 mandates a budget balanced every year instead of in the long run--much like the conditionality imposed by the IMF on Tanzania to balance the budget at any cost; another Ahnuld special
I'm for 55 and 56, against 57 and 58

2. For 55, 56 Against 57, 58
55 schools bonds
56 lower from 2/3 to 55% majority needed for tax law will break Republican grip on state funding.

57 A 15 billion slush fund for Arnolds reelection
58 A balanced budget amendment or I promise to raid the cookie jar only once by Arnold.

3. I'm voting NO on
all of them. I have been taken on school bond issues before where they don't use the money as they promised. I am worried about 56. I think 56 would be alright as long as the Democrats have the majority but what happens if the repukes were to gain control :scared: (if nothing else I am leaving that one blank). Of course the other two are arnie bail-outs so they get a BIG ole NO, no doubts on those. :thumbsup:

5. I think I'm voting no on all the initiatives...
55- I'd love to see more schools built, but LAUSD has a stinky track record of not using bond money well. I'd like to see some new leadership there before I start voting to pump more money into it.

56- I don't like the idea of giving any legislature the ability to more easily raise taxes or pass new laws. Government seems to work better IMHO when politicians CAN'T actually do anything easily to mess things up. This is one of those cases.

57 / 58- Shwarzenegger said he'd fix the budget without raising taxes. We'll this isn't actually a tax, but he's asking us to pawn the defict off onto the backs of future generations with this long-term bond. The people who spent the money are in office now and us adults voted them in. WE are responsible for the budget problem, not the kids and grandkids who have yet to pull the lever. WE should take the hit and pay for it. Let Shwarzenegger put his money where his mouth is and fix the budget without the easy answers.

Yeah-- I know, I'm an axxhole, you don't need to remind me.
