Indignities Endured by U.S. Military Veterans
A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS
Last Update: March 1, 2004
http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/03/11/ana03304.html

Today it's clear to many veterans that the Bush administration and Republicans in Congress think of them on other days of the year besides Veterans Day. They're thinking of veterans as they work to cut off VA healthcare. They're thinking of veterans when they refuse to address lingering health problems from the first Gulf War. They're thinking of veterans when they block full retirement and disability benefits. And they're thinking of veterans when Bush decides, yet again, not to attend a solider's funeral or pay a visit to those who are recovering from injuries at Walter Reed Army Medical Center just a few miles from the White House.

All that thinking has only hurt veterans of this country. Obviously, they deserve much better. And they deserve our full support.

BuzzFlash is committed to revealing the numerous ways in which Bush has gone back on his pledge to be an advocate for veterans. Excerpts from news stories, editorials and speeches detailing Bush's and Congress' actions are provided here. New articles will be added periodically. Please send articles on how the Bush administration is betraying our veterans to: BuzzFlash@BuzzFlash.com

- much, much more . . .

1. He has created a bad situation
He has done nothing for troops of the past. Nothing for the troops of the present. And as for the the troops of the future, it doesn't seem anything will be set to help them out either.

Man! I can't wait until this president is out of office. I feel violated!

2. Now I get to say it again.
Bush and the Republican party are NOT NOT NOT pro military personel.
They are pro military CONTRACTORS. Halliburton and friends will make billions, if not trillions, off this administration... and one of the groups of people paying for it are those of us who wear/wore the uniform.

3. You know what I'd like to see at the Dem. Convention??

The long line of boys/girls (no disrespect meant here - a high percent of them are so young) who were injured in this fictitious "war", each one carrying the name of a dead soldier filing past the dias. While these kids are filing past, I would like to hear John Kerry explain what the Bush junta has done to make sure that these kids won't be receiving medical treatment for the rest of their lives or housing, schooling and retirement monies and I would like him to bring along some of the older vets who have been screwed out of every thing they have been promised.

Now THAT would be something to see..
