Boxer vs. Jones, what do CA DUers think?
it looks like good for Boxer if Jones is her opponent, Jones lost to Bill Simon in the gubernatorial primary so that obviously isn't good for him, and Rove wanted Marin, so not only does that mean the supposedly strongest candidate isn't running, but that Jones might get less funds from angry national GOP (and remember that California is a very expensive state to run in)

but I don't like there, so what do you think?

1. Jones is a fundy-pal of *.....so...
We will be seeing a LOT of * here in the next few months.. He will make a lot of visits here and the spin will be how "close" the race is.. I am smelling a big fat rat here.. If all the spin says that the race is close and we cannot even have a paper trail to verify votes, who's to say he didn't win, when the machines are tweaked a bit ..Just enough to not look obvious, but perhaps enough to "win".. Having Jones "beat" Boxer gives added "legitimacy" to a * victory in CA..

I hope I am wrong, but it fits their pattern .. Remember Georgia??

2. Probably safe for Boxer
I'm kinda pissed at Boxer right now though. She said something really stupid as the whole SF marriage thing kicked off...basically that Gays and Lesbians didn't need marriage and that things were ok the way they were. From Feinstein I would expect this, but from Boxer? Sheesh, like she's going to get fundy votes or something... :eyes:

I wish there was some way to get another Democratic candidate on the ballot. I really hate Boxer.

3. I helped Jones win
tee-hee.....my sister (the flake) forgot to switch her party affiliation from repuke to dem. So I told her to make sure to vote for Jones, which she did. He has about as much chance of winning against Boxer as the Pork Bistro does of catering a bar mitzvah.

5. The only way the Goopers won an election in CA
is by running a puffed up movie star who pretended to be a moderate. Bush Republicans lost every statewide election in 2002 when the rest of the nation saw GOP gains. Deep south conservatism doesn't sell in the golden state.

6. She's vulnerable...
if Jones raises a lot of $$$ with Bush's help.
