"Freedom, Faith, and Family"
Saw some of Bushes ads on the Newshour tonight.

Seems one used those three words, Freedom Faith & Family.

Sounds pretty traditional values to me.

The ads where good. Sort of like those Reagan "Morning in America" ads. Pushing a postiive message.

One of them was pretty sharp as it used a Bush voiceover, but only brief cuts of Bush talking (whith Laura in the backround). You don't want Bush on cam too much becuase he looks like such a doof.

So, we are seeing the first barrage, softening up the terrain.

1. The "Morning In America" crap will NOT work this time around.
When Ray-gun took office in 1981, the country was in bad shape.
We had 9% unemployment, inflation, and were getting over some bad times in America: the Vietnam War, Nixon/Watergate, and the hostage crisis. As 1984 rolled around the economy picked up and new jobs
were finnally being created. Also, Reagan was a much better communicator than Mr. Bush is.

When Bush* took office in 2001, the country felt confident as a whole
and the economy was still in good condition. Bush's* predicesor, the FAIRLY elected William Jefferson Clinton did good things and lead the country in the right direction.

Also, the electorate is evenly divided and much more diverse than
it was in 1984.

4. How about "Sunset America"......
....then "Sunrise on a new Amerika World Order". GW says in one of those ads, "I know the vision I have for Amerika". Can he let us in on that vision by going on the record with a total disclosure Vision Statement? I like family/faith/ (what is the other F?) or fortune also. The question is can we all have that in Bush's Amerika or is that only reserved for a special group elite? $100million political war chest can buy a lot of slick ads, but when we were being pitched all those Madison Ave tobacco ads, how much truth did they contain?

7. I really, really hope you're right,
but I'm not so sure about that. NEVER EVER underestimate the stupidity, gullibility, forgetfulness and passivity of the American sheeple.

WE might not fall for it, but there are plenty of others who will, despite all the overwhelming evidence surrounding them from all sides.

2. What i want to know is,
How is Bush's new vision for this country and it's economy going to be any different then the last three+ miserable years? If he hasn't been implementing his brilliant economic vision by now, then it's too late.

3. These ads play more on "Values"
...they are about patriotism and sort of 9-11 ish (theres a pix of some firefighters)..starts in BW, then moves to color.

We need to get some media out there too.

6. yeah well,
His so called values hasn't helped me put food on my family's table. And it's not like I haven't busted my butt trying to provide for my family, but the deck is stacked against me, thanks to bush's values.

8. Everything old is new again...
Today it's 'Freedom Faith & Family.''

In Vichy France it was Travail, Famille, Patrie .

Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 09:34 PM by RationalRose
Lots of leiderhosen and Nazi flags flapping in the breeze, blonde Germans looking happy, etc.
