DU endorsement for Kerry?
Has there been a substantive discussion about DU front page moving from ABB to JK?

This is, afterall, Democratic Underground - In the latest poll over in GD2004Primary, when I saw it last, Kerry had 72 to DK's 40 some... At what point, if at all, will it be appropriate to take down the ABB, without infuriating the Clarkies, Deanites and Edwardsians? A DU endorsement wouldn't harm these folks I don't think. They wouldn't necessarily have to get up in arms about it or consider themselves forcibly assimilated into Kerrycrats for any reason at all.

My apologies to the DK and Sharpton supporters. I love both of the guys as well, but it's just a mathematical kinda thing... ya know? :)

3. I think we should go for Kerry.
He's a good speaker. He's got experience. He's a war veteran. He's certainly a progressive.

The question is sorta simple - do we want to unite behind John Kerry and win, or do we want to hold out for some unattainable perfection and get...four...more...years...of....****? :scared:

4. Only after the convention
favoring any candidate at this stage also speaks to support of their policies. Is his platform one DU wishes to support while there are still viable alternatives?

7. If DU wants to help beat G.W.Bush,
wouldn't the endorsement be the first step? Could word it as an endorsement of a man who at this point could beat Bush, and not necessarily his platform?

8. I think it's time to endorse Kerry.
Looks like he's got it wrapped up. The time to unite is close. If we unite, we will take bush out in 2004. It HAS to happen.

Christ, I am feeling optimistic tonight.

9. That's the quickest way to pare down the membership here.
Why not just wait until he's the nominee? If it's SO inevitable, what's the harm in waiting?

10. I agree. Kerry is the inevitable nominee. lets move on...
I was a Dean supporter but I am more ABB. Kerry is the guy so I am behind him 110%. It's time to unite as a party and get moving so we can have a head start. there's a long road ahead of us.

11. I know I am new
but I think it would be best to wait until Kerry is the OFFICIAL nominee. You never know what may happen.

12. I just announced my support for Kerry here at DU, BUT.....
I believe that DU has a responsibility to ALL of its members. This is a very diverse group of people, with just as diverse political leanings. DU should wait until after it is official. Why ruffle feathers unnecessarily. Patience is a virtue!

13. Once Kerry has the delegates (only a few to go)
then yes. We should support Kerry 100%. We are the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND and he is/will be the Democratic Nominee.

If I wanted to read anti-Democratic statements, I'd become a freeper.

We have nothing to gain by ripping down our own guy and giving fuel to the enemy.
