3. I found this quote interesting.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/04/elec04.prez.bush.ads.ap/index.html

This was the last paragraph of the story about 9/11 victims thinking Bush's Photo Op was tastless. It is quoting Karen Hughs.

"I can understand why some Democrats might not want the American people to remember the great leadership and strength the president and first lady Laura Bush brought to our country in the aftermath of that," she said.

Now, refresh my memory, please. What leadership and strength did Laura Bush bring to our country? I know it took a while for Dubya to quit hiding under the covers and come out and address the public, but I know nothing of Laura Bush's leadership. We aren't talking about a third grade read-a-thon here.

8. "Great Leadership" MY ASS. Here's my email to Wolf Blitzer:
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 05:21 PM by calimary
"I am APPALLED that george bush would exploit 9/11 in his campaign ads. NOTHING could be more callous and disrespectful to the victims and their families. NOTHING! And NO, he WAS NOT THERE that day. He spent most of the day flying around the Sunbelt in Air Force One, looking for a hidey hole. One of my most glaring memories was of YOUR CNN anchor/colleagues, throughout that horrible day, repeatedly saying "WHERE is the president?" For heaven's sakes, Wolf, I'd hope YOU would remember that, too."

4. I find it hard to believe America could become more polarized
It is virtually split fifty fifty right now and everything the GOP does just throws gas on the fire. We may become more intense and that may mean violent but we are as polarized now as during the Civil War. IMHO. There are very strong feelings and emotions being played upon.

5. Just wait till the R Convention when they try
to set * up on a podium at Ground Zero and watch them get slapped down to lower than whale doo (who uses that phrase on DU?). This bunch might learn a lesson about jingoism.

6. they've already learned that lesson.
they learned it works. it will work this time too. if he loses, it won't be because he was too jingoistic. when you're running on the right-wing nationalist ticket, you can't *be* too jingoistic.
