The audicity! CT Gov Rowland blasts impeachment panel
There is no end to this guy's gall. I guess he wants to go out with his proverbial guns blazing?

Rowland Blasts Committee
Contends Impeachment Panel Is Too Costly, Unfocused, Lacking In Standards

March 4, 2004
By MARK PAZNIOKAS And ELIZABETH HAMILTON, Courant Staff Writers

Ending weeks of public equanimity toward the House impeachment inquiry, Gov. John G. Rowland is attacking its lack of defined standards, its broad focus and its projected $1 million cost.

The governor's comments drew a rebuke Wednesday from the leaders of the Democratic majority and Republican minority in the House of Representatives.

at the recent Governors convention. Not twelve seats down...right there with Jeb, next to the podium. Rowland is a long-time family friend of the Bush's and was about to get a cabinet post when the scandals started surfacing. The Bush's have pledged their 100% support for Rowland. And it gets worse...

The CT legislature is currently debating the appointment of a new judge, who just happens to have provided 100's of thousands of dollars worth of FREE legal services to Rowland, upon which Rowland gave the law firm MILLIONS in state legal business. They are actually debating the merits of the judge's appointment, as if there should be any discussion at all. The debate is all about whether accepting free services in exchange for government contracts is as bad as accepting a hot tub and some free vacations.

I honestly think Rowland's current display of arrogance is because he knows the Bush family is his deus ex machina. This state has made Louisana look like a piker when it comes to corruption. For some reason, the legislature here seems to fucking scared to stand up to Rowland, despite the fact that his approval numbers here are the lowest of any governor in the history of the country.

BUSH IS INVOLVED. ROWLAND WILL WALK.

5. True...
Believe it or not, the RepubliCONs in the state legislature at least are standing up to Rowland, as well as our national house reps like Rob Simmons & Chris Shays.

Silence from most of the Democrats, though.

3. What sort of approval rating does Bozo have in Connecticut?
Last I heard, a month or more back, the majority of CT citizens wanted impeachment. What do his numbers look like now?

4. I wasn't kidding...lowest approvals in history
Less than 30%. And he still only talks about the good things he is doing for the people of CT. Like giving our money it to Ken Lay. Seriously -- $230,000,000 bought him a lavish Lay-funded campaign launch. Of course, that money is long gone, and we've now had three tax increases to help make up for it..
