Another Repug caught with his hand in the till
http://www.registerguard.com/news/2004/03/03/d4.cr.legispay.0303.html

excerpt:

PORTLAND - Former state Sen. Lenn Hannon nearly drained his office account before he resigned to take a state job by paying his legislative aide - his wife - $11,000 in salary, and Oregon Senate Republicans want him to pay it back.

When Hannon, R-Ashland, resigned Jan. 31, he left his successor, Sal Esquivel of Medford, with little money for staff and supplies until the next legislative session begins in January.

Legislators' spending on staff has attracted attention since outgoing House Majority Leader Tim Knopp, R-Bend, doled out raises and bonuses averaging $3,500 to a half-dozen staff members in December.

Hannon's office spending came to light in an analysis by The Oregonian in January that showed a broad ``use-it-or-lose it'' spending pattern by lawmakers between sessions.

end excerpt

Oregon has the highest unemployment in the country and the highest rate of child poverty and hunger. But these bozos have no qualms about feathering their own nest. We are certainly earning our sobriquet: the Mississippi of the Northwest

1. Standard Bushevik Practice.
They are growing more bold. But the system has not atrophied to the point yet where the "lower ecehelon" of the Imperials can get away scot free with crime like their Imperial masters and their Stooges.

Not yet, anyway.

Though this guy will likely wind up with a slap on the wirst by some "friendly" Federalist Society "judge" (political operative with no regard for the law but with extreme loyalty to the Imperial Family).

In 20 years, you won't even hear about stuff like this, if the Imperials retain control and the transiion to Empire intensifies.
