Will the Blue Flu hit the Repug Convention.
Just a thought but with all the Fed cuts to Police and Firefighter, added to the number of them serving in Iraq because of them being in the NG or Reserves, a bad case of Blue Flu, could hit during the Repug convention.

2. They'll just bring in the Nat'l Guard
or something pathetic like that. Military guys with assault weapons -that's the only thing that's going to keep New Yorkers from going after monkey boy.

10. Who knows?
at that point it's possible that New Yorkers will be percieved as a greater threat than Iraqis.

4. Turf wars
The RNC has been declared a "National Security Event" - which means that the Secret Service has full oversight and coordination roles for all other security/emergency agncies involved.

While the NYPD still gets to come up with a game plan for their part in the festivities, the SS can shout 'em down if they want.

I'd say the NYPD isn't too happy about that. Not that NYPD Brass would condone or recommend Blue Flu, but they might not do as much to keep it from happening as they otherwise might?

7. And if the Blue Flu just hits as the convention starts
that kills a lot of the SS plans they had in place.

5. Hoping for a lot of Fire Marshal inspections and occupancy counts
you know, to ensure there are not too many people in a building. Don't want anybody getting hurt if they have to rush out or anything... Phewww! What's that horrid smell? Oh, Chicken Hawk Dick must have arrived in the building..."

Lots and lots of strict enforcement of every annoying little rule would be great fun to see. Hey, neocons are all about control... Let's hope the folks in Blue and FDNY ball caps do just that to them.

Also hoping for chance of rain in NYC at convention time. Was thinking about folks with signs getting shunted to 'free speech zones'. Well, if there was the slightest chance of a shower, folks would be OK carrying umbrellas. I am sure one can buy an umbrella cheap enough that one wouldn't mind painting a political message on it...

9. Nice one!
Quality of Life violations! The City has been nailing us with those for the past year trying to make up budget gaps.

Slam these conventioneers at every opportunity!

Besides, it supports, NYC, right?

11. $3 to $5 bucks if you buy them on
the street. Sounds like a great idea! I'll do it!

12. The umbrella signs would be great done by several thousand 'pedestrians'
all worried about rain at the same time at the same place.

6. There's a huge billboard
not too far from MSG on behalf of the NYPD. The billboard is questioning why the NYPD is so underfunded and why, considering the difficulty of their jobs and the NYC cost of living, they are among the lower paid police officers in the nation. They are a professional force and will do their jobs, but they are not too happy.

Many rank and file police officers feel they are not given the tools to do their jobs.
