I believe he wouldn't have. Reagan was a number of bad things, especially as far as liberals go, but he was not a callous and depraved moron like Bush.
This is a question that moderates and "Reagan Democrats" should ask themselves. This should help frame the debate of exactly how vile Bush is- on top of all the other crap he has pulled. This takes the cake.

5. true. It's the same bunch now as then. |

But I still thought I'd ask. The point below about the hostages is a good one, but that's hard to pin on Ron, since it appeared at the time to be simply a last swipe at Carter by the Iranians.

6. Bingo! St. Ronnie would do what he was told. |
|
He always did, until his mind turned to mush. After that, he always did what he was told but had no idea he was doing it or who told him to.
Poor Raygun. His time is almost up. Dead by October. Just a coincidence, surely.

2. He probably would have returned directly to D.C.... |
|
He would have exploited 9/11. But nothing compared to the chickenhawk in chief.

4. He exploited the Iranian hostages without a qualm |
|
The fix was in with that deplorabel situation. The hostages suddenly get released the day St. Ron was sworn in. Not the day, week or month before, but on that day. And he was very happy to take the credit for the release. Wonder why not many asked what Iran got for holding up the release till then .
