9-11 Tragedy. Anyone answer this question?
About 2772 were killed.

How many were american citizens?

World Trade Center contained offices for 70 different nations.

I cannot locate this info.

3. About 80 different nations, I've heard.
Try a Google search using specific phrases, such as "different nations."

Anyway, a lot of the people who worked at the World Trade Center were immigrants of some sort. Look at the staff of Windows on the World. Their number included Poles, Central Americans, et al. Then there are Khami and Roshan Singh (I think those are the names), the sister and brother who died there. I forget their nationality, but they pretty much epitomize the diversity of the group.

5. Even some undocumented immigrants in WOW....
Some would call them "illegal aliens". Others, "just deportees".

6. Here's an article

Nearly 100 Britons also died, British officials confirmed, and up to 200 more are missing from the World Trade Center. Two Japanese were in the downed jets, and more than 80 are unaccounted for. The Canadian government is trying to locate as many as 75 nationals believed to be in and around the twin towers at the time of the attack. The dead hailed from 62 nations, said U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

It is unknown exactly how many foreign nationals are among the missing, presumed dead, under the tons of concrete and twisted steel. But officials conservatively estimate that upwards of 800 of the more than 5,400 dead or unaccounted for in New York are from countries other than the United States. More than 40,000 people -- workers, shoppers and tourists -- were in the World Trade Center on a daily basis, including thousands of foreigners.

Newspaper reports said at least 50 Bangladeshi are unaccounted for at the World Trade Center. The London Times reported that 270 Germans are missing. The BBC said Russian officials put the toll of missing at 164. The International Herald Tribute said 131 Turks have not been found. The Washington Post reported one Ghanaian dead, and four Chinese. The Consulate General of Mexico in New York said 18 nationals are missing. Australian Foreign Affairs Minister
