Repubs cannot win if the contest goes negative...
As long as they run their patriotic and positive ads, they believe they can beat the Democrats. If the Democrats go negative on them. they will say that the Democrats are an "angry" Party and the people of this country do not want that type of Party leading our nation.

That is the condition set for this election. You will notice that the Repubs will attempt to goad Kerry into going negative and then watch their response. This is their strategy and one that Kerry should be aware of and should be careful not to get caught in a Catch-22 situation.

Democrats should be very careful about the tone they set early off, in my opinion. There is time to let the voters know who was in charge on 9/11. And there is time to remind voters of the lies that have so far led to over 540 deaths of Americans in Iraq. But the Repubs do not want to talk about it and if the Democrats do, they will accuse the Democrats of going "negative".

1. Repukes call the truth 'negative attacks.'
This is what we have to fight.

4. Exactly.... When one is as defensive as Bush*, every comment is
going to be construed as a negative attack ad....

3. They Don't Want "The Beast" Unleashed
They know if Dems go negative, we can blast them with all of their lies, eetc.

Do they really think that the Dems won't bring up all of the lies, deceptions, broken promises, etc. Do they really think we will lay down and take it again like we did in 00?

Let's start with lying about starting a war for starters.

5. Negative ads often work
As long as the Dems don't sound strident.

6. It's not so much about "negative" or "positive".....
as it is about what is true or what is not true. That is the point. All Democrats need to do is stick with the facts. They are deadly for Bush.
