To Coloradoans. Campbell's Senate Seat.
Your thoughts on who the Republicans will run for Switchhorse's senate seat now that he won't run? Everybody has been saying Governor B.O., but people at the Dean meetup last night thought that it would not happen for him because the media would finish him over his infidelity issues.

The people there were betting on Scott McInnis running. They were fairly confident that he could be beaten.

I actually saw Mike Miles, Democrat running for that seat speak. He seems like a pretty good option to go with as a candidate. Hopefully he will take it.

1. A couple of people have recommended Miles to me --
-- and he looks pretty good. I like Udall also. I like any Democrat except Zell Miller for that matter, but O what a pleasure it would be if we could grab this seat from the GOP in Colorado.

Go Colorado Democrats -- get it done for us all!

9. Didn't Udall say he wouldn't run for it?
I thought he ruled out a run a couple months ago. Although, perhaps Campbell's decision will change his mind.

2. I think Owens is at the top of the list to replace Cheney....
Otherwise, he may run for the Senate. I know Mike Miles and he has a lot of experience...also had a great military record. But he'sbeing somewhat ignored by the Party establishment so far. I'm sure McInnis is coveting the race.

3. I like MIles and Bridges both.
I'm hoping that thw Repigs run somebody especially firebrand and outrageous...Like Tancredo, or a barely winner like Beaupres. McInnis would be fun, since we can resurrect the "Fruitcake" show like a year ago. LOL!

Udall would be a strong candidate.

4. Interesting he chose now to announce...
Here in CO you have to be registered to vote as a member of the party to participate in the caucus two months beforehand. There's no opportunity now for Colorado Repubs to do any kind of registration drive to get new voters to support a particular candidate.

5. Maybe Campbell is turning coat again?
"It was all part of his master plan, to decieve and infiltrate the enemies, and just when they least expect it, he strikes. Bwahahahahaha!"

Actually I really don't know, I've just seen too many evil scientist movies.

6. Could the media would care less about Owen's's affair?
He is, of course, a Republican. A Repubican, we all know, gets immunity if he does something like that. Owens is no Condit or Clinton.

7. Owens says it will take him 7 to 10 days to decide.
And the caucases are in 4 1/2 weeks! I guess he is wainting to see if he can hush up all the people who know the truth about his marriage.

He would be the most difficult one to beat - and it seems that the others are waiting for him to decide before they enter the race.

I happen to know Rutt Bridges. Been using his software for 13 years. He is a real go-getter but not quite a type A personality. He says that he is moderate, but I know he can't stand some of the looney-right repukes that we have here. This is a huge step for him. Until now he only wanted to deal with state issues. I just hope he doesn't blow his fortune on a bad decision to run. I'd wish he'd run against Rep. Tancredo or State Senator Andrews.
