How does this scenario sound . . . .
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 11:37 PM by liberal72
the leak about Plame starts to become news as the election drawa near, but is unresolved by election day. Bush wins, but barely. 6-9 months after Bush's second inauguration it is revealed that the top most people were involved in the release of Plame - Bush, Rove and Ashcroft. Bush has to resign, just like Nixon. Cheney becomes Pres., but nobody likes him. Dems take the House and Senate in '06 and Hillary in '08 and save Social Security, Medicare, etc.

What do you think?

I should point out that I hope this scenario doesn't play out because I want Bush out so don't think I am some DLC shill.

1. Too little, too late and too orchestrated.
I hope this isn't what is on the drawing board at the DLC.

2. Not feasible. If Chimpy gets re-selected, no way can we nab his filthy
rotten lying chickenshit ass. The fascists will have won and we're all fucked.

3. If Bush stays in power
-- and notice I don't say re-elected -- it will be because they've gained full control of the news media and all the mechanisms of election. We will be living in a full-fledged police state if that happens, and who knows how long it will take to get rid of the Nazis, I mean Republicans.

I've long assumed that Cheney is the real president, he's the one who makes the actual decisions about many things, but is diabolical enough to allow Bush to think HE'S in charge.

If the cabal gets overconfident and does not make sure by several means that they'll stay in power, then there's hope for us. I've been saying for some time that in a free, fair, and honest election, any one of the men who were going for the Democratic nomination would win. "Electability" has been a screen for the way people got manipulated into thinking Kerry, who is fully beholden to corporate interests, would be the nominee.

Perhaps the essential issue is going to be whether the corporate media and the corporation money-givers lose confidence in Bush, in their ability to control him, in his willingness to do what they want. If that happens, then Kerry will win the election. If the corporate media et al remain confident Bush is their man, he'll stay in power. There are so many ways to steal the election -- and don't ever discount the possibility of some kind of terrorist attack excuse to cancel the election -- that it scares me.
