Poll question: Despite the Constitution and our Bill of Rights, we have a class society.
A simple question. Do you agree or disagree with it?

1. Oh, absolutely
Many of the laws we have (or are seeking) are really only applicable to certain economic classes of people.

Take abortion, for instance. Restrictions on abortion end up hurting the poor significantly more than they do others. If there's a 24-hour waiting period, that's one more day off from work, one more hotel room or long drive, and so forth. If abortion is banned entirely, poor women are out of luck; wealthier women can take a short weekend trip to somewhere that it's legal. (In many cases, the cost of surgeries outside the U.S. PLUS the cost of the airfare and lodging is less than the cost of the surgery itself, here.)

2. This has been a society with a Rich Aristocracy....
...ever since the Continental Congress (ANOTHER Rich Person's debating society), at the insistence of Alexander Hamilton (ANOTHER Rich Asshole), SOLD the Bonded Revolutionary War Debt for pennies on the dollar to all of the OTHER Rich Assholes.

Why do you think Aaron Burr (one of the last TRUE Patriots) challanged him to a duel, and contrary to the custom of the times, shot and killed his ass?

His like has been few and far between since then.

3. I think we need a more equality in the economic world.
Supposedly, we have equality in the political world. But, when people are told to "vote with their dollars" instead, then the person with the most dollars has the biggest voice in affairs. Or, more dollars = more votes.

This is a cycle that feeds on itself. Those with more dollars use their more votes to alter the rules to give them yet more dollars/votes.

I think that this is inherent in unregulated capitalism. As one extreme example, the world industrialists didn't seem to have a lot of problems funding and encouraging Hitler to get themselves access to slave labor. They voted with their dollars for fascism.

5. The first division is gender, IMO.
If you are an American woman you are undervalued regardless of anything else.

There has been some progress made, but George W. Bush and his shadow government's administration has really tried to put the kabosh on that.

Instead of developing and funding for programs that are helpful for women, the $$ goes into Homeland Security and DoD budgets:puke:
