H-A-R-K-E-N
Martha Stewart's conviction today should lead the way to an investigation into bush's insider trading while he was on the board of director's at Harken Enterprises in the 90's. Democrats should have to do absolutely nothing but allow this guy to be consumed by his own failures, inadequacies, lack of leadership, criminality, disservice to his country and on and on and on.

Anyone know of any Mutual funds related to investigative services? They should be pretty lucrative for awhile.

1. You are correct, BOSSHOG but recent history suggests
the Dems won't touch it. Too afraid, too timid, to fearful of being the 2004 Bush Plane Crash Victim or perhaps the 2004 Bush LIHOP #2 victim or perhaps the 2004 Bush Right-Wing Anthrax Assassin Victim or...

Whatever. As I've often said before, we are at such a time where motivations are almost irrelevant and actions are EVERYTHING.

(never thought I'd live to see such an awful day)

In either case, I hope to be proven wrong by events.

If I'm not wrong: How did the Party of FDR/Truman/Kennedy/LBJ turn into such a goaddmaned scaredy bunch of milquetoasts?

3. I have been pleasantly surprised
at the actions surrounding the Plame investigation. Its not moving fast, but it is moving. They have now asked for records of phone calls from AF One and other stuff. And Wilson's book is out in May. rove and gillespie are going to be a circus act this summer juggling all of bush's mishaps, past, present and future. I look forward to it.

4. From your lips to God's ears on this one, pal
I agree about the pleasant surprise (though I fear the 79 day headstart has resulted in the destruction of any seriously inciminating evidence -- another Bush fix -- allow an impartial investigation only after everyone who knew is dead or intimidated and the evidence destroyed).

So, we'll see. I would like to be pleasantly surprised, too.

2. Let's Have Michael Moore or McAuliffe Bring It Up
It worked with the AWOL thing - got alot more public attention than it ordinarily would have.

Let's bring it on.

6. Locking
Rules to start discussion threads in the General Discussion forum.

1. If you start a thread in the General Discussion forum, you must present your opinion in a manner that is not inflammatory, which respects differences in opinion, and which is likely to lead to respectful discussion rather than flaming. Some examples of things which should generally be avoided are: unnecessarily hot rhetoric, nicknames for prominent Democrats or their supporters, broad-brush statements about groups of people, single-sentence "drive-by" thread topics, etc.

2. The subject line of a discussion thread must accurately reflect the actual content of the message.

3. The subject line of a discussion thread may not include profanity or swear words, even if words or letters are replaced by asterisks, dashes, or abbreviations.

4. The subject line and the entire text of the message which starts the thread may not include excessive capitalization, or excessive punctuation.

5. If you post an article or other published content which is from a conservative source or which expresses a traditionally conservative viewpoint, you must state your opinion about the piece and/or the issues it raises.

6. You may not start a new discussion thread in order to continue a current or recent flame war from another thread. The moderators have the authority to lock threads in order to contain flaming on a particular topic to only one thread at a time.

7. Discussion topics about the Democratic presidential primary are not permitted in the General Discussion forum, and instead must be posted in the General Discussion: 2004 Primary forum. Passing references to the Democratic primary candidates are permitted, provided that the overall topic of discussion is not directly related to the presidential primary or the primary candidates.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
DU moderator
