I think I just convinced my father in law to write in Howard Dean in Nov.
Now before you flame me, I have to tell you he is a republican! He will not vote for Kerry, I wish that there was something I could say to make him reconsider but it ain't gonna happen. However he likes Dean and if him writing in Dean means he won't be voting for Bush, I say mission accomplished.

2. Write in votes in Mississippi (and most states) won't be counted...
I guess the only way writing in a vote is a good thing is if a Republican is doing it.

3. Those are my thoughts on the matter

Hello Jchild how are you today? I am currently writing a proposal for Dennis Herrerra (the city attorney of San Francisco) in support of gay marriage. Bush said that "no religion on Earth recognizes gay marriage." In my proposal I am informing them about the many native American tribes that respected homosexual marriages. I am finding a lot of good stuff, do you have any suggestions?

BTW, I have to ask are you a big Julia Childs fan? My husband who used to be a baker practically worships her.

5. I'll put my head to it for specifics...
In the meantime, look up the word berdache on the internet. Lots of information about them. Patricia Galloway's books on the Choctaws also discusses same-sex relationships among southeastern tribes.

I love Julia, but my user name is a distortion of my own name. :-) When I joined DU, I didn't realize I wouldn't have the option of changing my user name, so I just typed in something quickly, and have always regretted my lack of creativity in choosing the name. However, I have had fun conversing with lots of DUers who ask if I am julia, like julia, cook as well as julia, or have my own show like julia. :-)

I was friends with Justin Wilson--tell your husband that...I bet he likes Justin, too.

:-) I will get back with you through PM on the info you need.

7. Convince him to just sit this election out.
Then he won't be voting in some other right-winger for Congress. We need to take back Congress also and if enough Republicans just stay home we may just do that.
