I realize they're laying off of people like Ken Lay and Skilling, but the problem isn't the crowing over Martha Stewart, the problem is the lack of attention to Ken Lay's crimes.

I find it hard to defend insider trading of any sort.

I get these things mixed up.
I'm still so pissed off at Fastow's insider trading with Enron (some of which I read the actual case against when I was doing a blackline on a civil complaint a couple of years ago) , I got confused.

What Martha Stewart did is penny-ante compared to what the Enron bastards. did. They should be locked away for the rest of their lives (I'm assuming they are guilty, I think they are)
I just think it's a bit of a mistake to try to defend Martha Stewart. I feel sad for her in that here she is a mega millionaire and somehow she must still not feel secure. Why else would she risk so much for so little?

The venality of Ken Lay is exponentially greater than Martha Stewart.
No question about that.

I'm still betting or at least hoping that he's going to get his due. I suspect that at this very moment Andrew Fastow is singing to the prosecutors in that case.
