President Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove, told the FBI in an interview last October that he circulated and discussed damaging information regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame with others in the White House, outside political consultants, and journalists, according to a government official and an attorney familiar with the ongoing special counsel's investigation of the matter.

But Rove also adamantly insisted to the FBI that he was not the administration official who leaked the information that Plame was a covert CIA operative to conservative columnist Robert Novak last July. Rather, Rove insisted, he had only circulated information about Plame after it had appeared in Novak's column. He also told the FBI, the same sources said, that circulating the information was a legitimate means to counter what he claimed was politically motivated criticism of the Bush administration by Plame's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Wilson uncovered the myth of Iraqi procurement of uranium from Niger. So what does the Bush junta do? The all-American, patriotic act of exposing his wife as a CIA agent.

Looks to me that what the Bush fascists did was a "politically motivated" act.

He admits telling journalists, but denies telling Novak, described in the story as a columnist.

Is this one of those "what the meaning of 'is' is" things?

5. It's a timeline issue

Novak was the first to out Plame, in his column. Rove is saying he didn't try to push it with journalists until after Novak had already revealed it. Making Rove innocent of the initial treason. But guilty after the fact.

...I believe that is treason by the most fundamental meaning of treason and Karl Rove having admitted to this, should now allow himself to be court marshaled and face a firing squad.
