Would Gore be vulnerable to flip flop charges if he runs?

I just thought of that. I think he ran a shitty campaign in 2000. One of the things he did was allow the GOP to define him. He was known to be an exaggerator. Would he be accused of flip flopping if he decided to run for President after saying he wouldn't.

Second, to us Democrats, what does it say of Gore that he decided NOT to run when he thought he would lose - and may now come back with Bushie's numbers on the tumble?

it will be to answer the call of his supporters. There has been an outcry for him to run since Dec. If he sees he is needed and wanted he will run. Eisenhower did it. RFK did it. It is not un precidented. Gore would have $7million to start off with from the last campaign and would get instant support from big contributers. Gore would have a better team to refute the right's lies about him this time. I supported Al to the bitter end after the coup, even though I had serious misgivings about his choice of Lieberman as his running mate. He hasn't shown any willingness to step into the fray since then - and I'm not blaming him for that - but what we need now is a fighter who can motivate and energize people.

If Gore tried to step into the race now, it would be too little too late for many and he would merely look like an opportunist, not the charismatic leader we need.

Are we so hard up we have to beg someone to run? Someone who isn't even taking a stand on anything? The energy that is being wasted on delusions about Gore would be SO welcome on REAL CANDIDATES' campaigns

It's just a shrill minority of Gore loyalists trying to carry out their petty partisan vendetta for revenge.

There are NINE announced candidates (eight of whom are all better than Gore, and five of whom are definitely electable) in the race for the Democratic nomination, yet they (as well as the media) choose to focus their energy on someone who has decisively announced that he will NOT run in 2004.

And on top of that, they verbally castrate ANYONE who disagrees with them about Al Gore.

you would have noticed he learned alot from 2000. he acted like he had nothing to lose this time around . they trashed him then, and they will do so again. but so what. this time we know what karl rove is all about. I am a draft gore supporter. I said this before and I'll say it again. I don't care what rove said before if there is one person he does not want to run against it is gore. the media spotlight would be soooo intense it would be hard for him to steal this one too. gore won before and he (rove) knows it. the other nine would be a cakewalk (I'm sorry to say).
