Being over in the UK, I've only just seen the George Bush "vote for me" TV adverts. I was confused as to why he said "My name is George Bush and I endorse this message."

Why does he say that? Is it because he's got to have a spokesperson doing his talking for him?

A really good thing, as far as I'm concerned.

I was reading recently that in contrast to the perfunctory endorsements others have been using, Kucinich has gone with an emphatic "Did I approve this message? You bet I did."
