4. There was so much great shit...the whole hour show for a change...
Edited on Sat Mar-13-04 12:57 AM by Zinfandel
I mean extremely funny, in your face Bush and fucking great, hard to describe...it just moved...all liberal fun...WOW...the best show so far (I saw every show last season and most this season). I wish I could just pick one thing...it ALL jelled together so well, so much stuff.

Maher will be repeated tonight and all week long, as well as tomorrow night...find a place (please, if you can) to check it out.

(Except for a brief segment with T. Thompson, even that had it's moments.)

Truly excellent! George Carlin was on his game too.

I think I'll start watching again regularly...and watch it again tomorrow night.

5. I always enjoy it...
even though some are better than others, that is just the nature of live TV. They can't all be gems, but I think all in all he is BRILLIANT at what he does....it's so much harder than he makes it look!

Sometimes I'm flabbergasted at h is opinions but at the same time it's nice to see somebody who isn't shilling for one of the parties or some ideological viewpoint...he's a bit all over the map, although liberal about all the social stuff.

I heard Tommy Thompson giving fitness advice on the radio the
other day and I couldn't believe my ears.

Of all the puffy, pasty, flabby-looking people in the world .

17. Agreed!
His statements that women don't like each other is truly abhorrent. I've always found the majority of women to be allies and resources in my life. I hate this heinous misconception that some men feel compelled to spout.

20. I've heard more women spout that than men
Almost all the women I've had in my life complain about not being able to trust other women, and how women are a pain in the ass, etc. etc. etc.

I find women to extremely distrustful of each other.

12. From Bill's opening dialouge

Bush phoned Anzar to convey sympathies for the Madrid bombings and infomred Anzar if they wanted, We would be willing to invade a country that had nothing to to do it.

Convenient Democracy

Both Iraq and Afghanistan are taking baby steps toward democracy, which has to be a good thing, although sometimes you wonder if they’re really serious about it or they’re just going through the motions in hopes that we’ll leave.

For example, take what Afghan president Hamid Karzai said during an event to mark International Women’s Day: "Please, my dear brothers, let your wives and sisters go to the voter registration process. Later, you can control who she votes for, but please, let her go."

Translation: Just play along with the Westerners, eventually they’ll get bored with this silly women’s rights crapola and they’ll go find some other country to invade.

16. Salon has his "New Rules" from last night
http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2004/03/13/washingtonoutsiders/index.html

you may have to watch a short ad to get the free day pass.

Hearing President Bush these days constantly complain about "the politicians" and John Kerry being part of a "Washington mind-set," and saying things like "I got news for the Washington crowd" is like hearing Courtney Love bitch about junkies.

"Washington insider" is by definition a function of one's proximity to the president. That's you, Mr. Bush. You're ground zero. Ever wonder, sir, why everyone stands and they play music when you enter a room? When you're given check-writing privileges by the Federal Reserve, you just might be a Washington insider.

Lemme try to explain it to you in a different way: You're not "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" -- you're the Washington part. We need a Mr. Smith to mess with you. You're not on a mission you reluctantly accepted, like the old farts in "Space Cowboys." You campaigned for this job, and now you're doing it again.

19. biggest politically-incorrect howler:
when he started ragging on Kerry after he ragged on BUsh:

"You're a Boston Brahmin ..... quit rolling up your sleeves like you're about to get behind the cash register at the Costco"

Then "you married not one, but two heiresses."

then he said about Theresa Heinz:

"she's the Ketchup Lady. Which is why you have to slap her on the bottom to make her come".
