Why is a film of the flagged draped coffins of soldiers disrespectful

while a film of the flagged draped coffin of a victim of the 9/11 attack not?

Being a veteran I really have some serious difficulties with this. If I had been killed fighting a war...particulrily one of the nature we are currently involved in I would prefer that the public was treated to a film of my mangled dead body. To hell with the flag draped coffin. I'd like to have text running across the bottom of the frame which stated..."this is the price of war. How many more must come home before the price is to high? Put the face of your son or daughter on the next body coming of the plane...when is the price to high."

It's not bush's commercial I have a problem with.....In fact I appreciate the fact it was made. It serves to open the door to the criticism he deserves for his failure to protect the citizens who employ him. His failure to effectively execute his primary job responsibility. What I have a problem with is the patent hypocrisy.

If my husband were coming home from Iraq in a coffin, I would want the entire country to see the price he paid and the price his family paid for this country. Thank god he is coming home safely next week.

That's the problem. Firefighters are furious that actors in little plastic hats were used in this ad to make * look like a leader.

yes, actors were used to portray firefighters in a scene but not in the body removal clip of Ground Zero.

6. Kerry should point out that W uses flag draped body images from 9/11

but not the war. Point out that this image has been repeated over 500 times for a war that was questionable, at best.

I think it is ironic... or hypocritical... that while Mr Bush exploits the images of those who died on 9/11, we the American public have been totally shielded from similar images of those young men and women who lost their lives in a war so far from home. Why are we not allowed to share this grief or be reminded of this continuing tragedy? Never before have we, the public, been so denied the images of the dear cost we are paying in war (not to mention the thousands of Iraqi civilians who have died). The media must also bear some responsiblility for turning war into little more than a bloodless video game to be played out by political pundits.

While Mr Bush apprently considers those dead something to hide under the rug, an embarrassment, something to keep from us, he has no problem whatsoever exploiting the dead of 9/11 for political gain, even over the objections of their families.
