Turn on CSPAN's WJ now
Ellen Johnson of Godless Americans Political Action Committee (executive director). She's an articulate, charming woman who is even better looking than the Republican blondes. And, man, is she getting the calls from the fundies! But she's swatting them down like flies. Quite sweetly, too. She has a point. If Ralph Reed can mobilize thousands of fundamentalists as a political force, why not a political action committee for people who are atheists. 30 million Americans profess no religion. So far, all the calls are against her.

6. Actually
At first she was a O'hare crony. I think she and others are starting to realize that O'hare had a huge negative influence on the perception of atheists in society. We have to fight to be part of the community. Not to prove that everyone else in the community is wrong.

5. Sounds like she may have finally realized
that atheists need to change their tactics. I have been in a couple of arguments with her before on tactics. A few years ago she was pretty much set on the dismantle religion campaign. I argued that we had to fight for our place in the community rather than argue that everyone else was simply wrong. I think they are finally shaking the effects of Ohare and are starting to see a new direction for the group. May have to start going to the meetings again.

8. the lady that just called
which DU'er was that? She nailed Bossie! She got him did you see the look on his face?
She brought up his dirty tricks and the Gene Lyon's book pointing it out. She smoked him!! It was great! All Bossie could do was say Gene was a so called journalist. He was floored. Ahhh, he's not very good when he has to deal with the facts.

10. that was me!!!
I couldn't believe I got through. I had SO much more to say, but I didn't want them to cut me off -- I'm not even sure if I remembered all the key points I wanted to make other than:
- Bossie is scum
- Bush doesn't take reponsibility
- nothing is Bush's fault
- Bush stole election
- planning on stealing another one through electronic voting.

Bossie was his usual articulate self in basically ignoring the whole thing and suggesting he couldn't dignify the irrational ranting.

13. thank you SO much.......I turned it off when he came on
cannot BEAR the fact that CSPAN allows such LYING CROOKS (or is it crooked liars?) on the air

CSPAN needs to be CASTIGATED for this......emails/letters, etc.

to have the DREGS of the universe on unopposed is unconscionably anti-democratic (small d; there IS no real Democratic party anymore, anyway)

can't wait to see the rerun......you didn't mention how he hounded the family of that woman who was hospitalized, by any chance, did you, or how he was FIRED from Burton's staff for his selective editing of, what was it, Hubble's phone tapes?

can't blame Lyons/Conason for that reality, can you?

was he forced to address that?

I REALLY REALLY HATE that worm......don't use that word often (particularly WRT to B*, as it provides fodder for the propagandists who twist the revulsion for chimpolicies for personal vendetta)

a huge KUDOS for getting through and NAILING that monster!!!!

YOU GO!!!!!!

15. You were Great!!
I wondered if it was a DUer! I also liked the guy who called, spoke his mind, then made fun of his name! HA! Mr Bossie. Mr. BOSSIE! Cracked me up. I thought a very telling statement that Bossie made, was when he said that bush would be re-elected as CEO of United States. CEO!

16. Good work!
I appreciate everyone who fights backs against these, as John Kerry so accurately called them, crooks. That Pro-Bush ad was dreadful. How ironic that the GOP wants people to hate Kerry because he has money! Like those people don't worship money! It's their true god. They worship the golden idol. And Bossie's defense was "Well, Kerry likes to portray himself as the common man". OK. And Bush likes to portray himself as a macho warrior cowboy. Only as a pilot he stood down for two years of his Guard Service while 300 soldiers a week were dying in Viet Nam. So much for macho. And as a rancher, he couldn't tell a cow from a bull at the rodeo photo op. this past week. Some rancher. What exactly IS Bush? He's not intelligent. He's not well-read. He doesn't know basic history or geography. He has no charm. He has a fake military background. He has a fake "successful businessman" background. (3 failed businesses). Is it really true that he only has the Christian thing going for him? That's it?

14. here's your typical David Bossie
from the Daily Howler....this is the CRUX of the completely false basis for examining Whitewater in the FIRST place, which led to the blue dress inquisition, which led to the smearing of Gore, which led to...........fricking GEORGE BUSH!

Fools for Scandal, indeed:

THE UNITED STATES OF MAGOO: You live in a land of propaganda and cartoon. And as you know, in the pundit corps’ latest Official Cartoon, Hillary Clinton must be a Big Liar. Here’s the nugget passage from David Bossie’s recital in this morning’s Washington Times:

BOSSIE: In her book, Mrs. Clinton does not address many important questions from her time as First Lady. Those of us involved in the investigations are not surprised by her continued fabrications. But it is important to establish a record of those lies, so that her fantasy will not go unchallenged as she begins her own bid for the White House.

The cartoonist knows which key words to use. And he knows that there is nothing so foolish that it can’t be fed to WashTimes readers. Believe it or not, this is Bossie’s first example of Clinton’s “fabrications” and “lies:”

BOSSIE (continuing directly): Fiction: Mrs. Clinton falsely claims that the Whitewater Independent Counsel exonerated her and President Clinton and that the investigations didn’t amount to anything. Truth: Mrs. Clinton fails to mention Mr. Starr’s 12 Whitewater convictions, including the Clinton’s business partner’s Jim McDougal, who died in prison, and Susan McDougal, who refused to testify, former Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker and Mrs. Clinton’s Rose Law Firm partner and Associate Attorney General Webster Hubbell.

Bossie adapts a long-established, dim-witted spin-point. Clinton mysteriously “fails to mention” those twelve convictions recorded by Starr.

To start with the obvious, Bossie seems to be lying; every one of the convictions he lists is described and discussed in Clinton’s book. (For example, the McDougal-Tucker trial is described in her chapter, “War Zones.”) We all understand the caliber of a man like Bossie, but why on earth would Tony Blankley put such blatant misstatements into print? But moving beyond Bossie’s requisite lying, the sheer absurdity of his hoary old spin-point surely speaks for itself. Hubbell was convicted of stealing from the Clintons, and the Starr team eventually determined that McDougal had defrauded the Clintons. Later, Bossie offers another of the cartoonish “fictions” he attributes to Senator Clinton:

BOSSIE: Fiction: Mrs. Clinton tries to distance herself from Mr. McDougal and the Whitewater business venture. Truth: There were eleven loans and numerous fraudulent financial transactions completed to benefit Whitewater, including one loan to Mrs. Clinton from Mr. McDougal owned Madison Bank. Jim and Susan McDougal were both convicted for a series of fraudulent loans, including one to Bill Clinton, which was only discovered by happenstance after a tornado hit an abandoned car.

Times readers will never know how thoroughly they are being misled. In fact, it was the Starr team which “distanced” the Clintons from Whitewater. During his summation at that McDougal trial, Starr prosecutor Ray Jahn said this:

JAHN: The President of the United States is not on trial. Why isn’t the President of the United States on trial? Why isn’t he on trial? Because he didn’t set up any phony corporations to get employees to sign for loans that were basically worthless. He didn’t get $300,000 from Capital Management like Jim and Susan McDougal did by falsely claiming their use…The President didn’t backdate any leases. He didn’t backdate any documents. He didn’t lie to any examiners, he didn’t lie to any investigators.

Say what? Bossie knows about that, so does Blankley. But Times readers? They’re marks. They will never be told.
But then, you live in the United States of Magoo, where cartoonists simply lie in your faces. Remember—here in Washington, ruining people is considered sport. The very nature of American civilization is at stake as these weird men wield their power.

Bossie represents the absolute DREGS, the very bottom of the cess pit, and the thought of his getting time on CSPAN is NAUSEATING beyond imagining
