"two-thirds of al Qaeda leadership caught or killed" ?
has anyone seen an iota of proof that this relentless claim of the bushies is true?

the only debunking I've been able to find has been a statement from al qaeda... which I can't use.

TIA

1. I'm guessing
Reports from the FBI, CIA, or Military would be tainted?

6. my feeling is
the phrase is empty propaganda on the order of "compassionate conservatism"

do the FBI, CIA, or Military *really* know how many of these terrorists there are? do we have cave counters out there?

3. How can you get an accurate head count when they're hiding
in caves and shadows?

Just remember according to Boo$h's staff he's no statistician.

But seriously you raise a good question. How do they know how many there are? Could this be a slip of the tongue?

12. "Could this be a slip of the tongue?"
hell no!

it is a major theme, repeated over an over--by the administration. but I've never seen/heard it backed up.

I'm not sure if Tenet has parroted it though... hmm....

the insipid chimp has said it pretty every time he's opened his mouth for the past year. (of course, the 'two-thirds' never changes... hmmm...

5. Google for the leaked Rummy memo
He said we "lack the metrics to know wether we are winning the war on terror or not"

He also said we were having "mixed results" on Al'Qaeda

And that he worried that Al'Qaeda was recruiting faster than we could capture or kill them...and that he wasn't sure if we could change the militray fast enough to win the war on terror

google the memo for the quotes, don't use my post

7. Isn't that what Israel has been saying for the last 50 years?
"Let's just kill the bad guys and be done with them"

They like to forget that they spring up like daisies and the more you mow down, the more that come up.

13. I would imagine that fundalmental zelots are pretty much the same
across the board. They are like cock roaches...you step on one and two more creep out of the wall.

Perhaps the first crop has been culled to a degree but I would hazard to guess they have been replaced....and will be replace ad infinitum. Let's face it....of the 15 to 20 thousand innocent civilians murdered in Iraq 100 percent have pissed off relatives and friends some of whome I am sure will seek violent retribution against those responsible for their murder.
