1. Woohoo! ... First letter plugs the book
-snip-

A book dealing with this issue -- Black Box Voting/Ballot Tampering in the 21st Century, by Bev Harris with David Allen -- can be read on your computer at the Web site blackboxvoting.org.

Read Chapter 2. It will give you some idea of how widespread this fraud is and, no doubt, is just a preview of what's to come in the 2004 election.

11. Interesting comments
but it seems they still don't understand that this is NOT a partisan issue - the belief that democrats can stuff ballot boxes, but not republicans, is especially insightful. Also there doesn't seem to be any concern that either party can hack an election. They are too trusting of one party, and consequently too trusting in government, something I wouldn't have expected from them.

7. Another Bev who GETS IT!!
We can do this by simply mandating that computerized voting machines produce old-fashioned paper ballots that would be available in case of questions about the election or if a recount becomes necessary.

15. Wow great letters all of them
And this is Fort Worth folks. This is bu$h country and people are speaking out. You can expect this in Austin, TX but it pleases me to see the regular folks around the state stop fearing their neighbors and start speaking out against the regime. Hats off to you in Ft. Worth.

I am so glad we have the Internet to get this BBV issue to the public. An informed public is the best weapon we have against the BFEE.

Thanks Bev and crew for all the work you do.

22. The one thing Bush* was right about was.....
....."The Internet is more dangerous than guns" To HIM! :toast:

Bush's Psalm

“Bush is my shepherd, I shall be in want. He leadeth me beside the still factories, He maketh me to lie down on park benches, He restoreth my doubts about the Republican party, He guideth me onto the paths of unemployment for the party's sake. I do fear the evildoers, for thou talkst about them constantly. Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy deficit spending They do discomfort me. Thou anointeth me with never-ending debt, And my savings and assets shall soon be gone. Surely poverty and hard living shall follow me, And my jobless children shall dwell in my basement forever.”
AMEN!

16. Congrats to Bev and those who helped her. But...
... the ballot heist may have already begun. I've found a recent election where nearly half the ballots of a leading (non-presidential) Democratic candidate were uncounted in a recent primary election. The number of uncounted ballots in the race was greater than the number of uncounted presidential ballots in Florida 2000. Luckily, the candidate "won" anyhow.

Verified voting is truly needed. But, suppose the election officials choose to ignore major problems. That's what happened in the case above. "Nothing to see here, everything went smoothly."

And the national press quit reporting on election problems after Florida 2000. Bev's book has a lot of elecion fiascos cited, but almost none made the national media.

I'll post details about this recent case next week.

18. Here's the kicker
We have officials ignoring the law.

Problems in voting systems are pointed out, found, proven, they ignore them and tell the general populace to go put their heads back in the sand.

I think that a bit snobby. It's OUR system of voting, not theirs. WE dictate what we want. WE pay for it and WE pay their salaries.

We need procedures in place, random audit provisions and provisions in the law for penalties for not enforcing them.

We need legislation that spells out the procedures, like posting totals at the precincts, that spells out auditing, mandates all of it, then provides for penalties for non-compliance.

Write/email/fax/phone the offices of Senators Graham, Clinton, and Boxer, contact Holt's office. If they are going to work on their voting legislation, let's get them to get some teeth into it!

You have to make it less desirable to ignore the law, then it is to ignore the law. Elections officials should have to think long and hard before they flip off citizens.

20. Unbelievable! And in Texas no less!
A year ago I dreamed that some day this would happen and feared that It never would. Today as I sit here looking back on the last week alone, I can't help but to wear an ear to ear grin, wiping away tears of joy.

Bev, Andy, and every one of you who took the time to post their comments and opinions, (That includes TFHP, Cocoa, Fredda and all who 'helped' us to perfect our counter arguments to the spin!) those who spoke out via e-mail, letters, faxes and phone calls to their family, friends, representatives and the press, all have a reason to be proud of how far this issue has made it into the American mainstream of consciousness.

This is truly the best of what makes America great, that 'we the people' can join together and raise our collective voice to demand redress of our grievences.....and succeed! :)

We're not quite there yet, the full court press is on, and the time on the clock is running out. The crowd in the stands is rooting for our side and demanding that the referees call fouls for the hacks that they witnessed in the first three quarters. They're demanding the return of 'instant replay' to keep the game honest otherwise they will no longer support the game. Should that occur, the referees will find themselves in an empty house with only one team on the court, and a large, angry, ever growing crowd of fans waiting for them in the parking lot.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

If you can play, get out there on the court and give it your all. If you can cheer, raise your voice as loud as you can in support.

Now's the time for this is one game we can't afford to lose!

Now get out there and WIN! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

:kick: GO TEAM BBV! :kick:

Oh, and one last thing, If we win there will be FREE BEER in the locker room after the game!  :toast: (And a case of the finest Merlot! ;-) )
