FSOD: If Spanish bombers were Hindu, as BBC initially reported...
(as discussed here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=420081&mesg_id=420112&page=), let's discuss:

The ruling party in India is a Hindu nationalist party that verges on fascism. India has aspirations to dominate the subcontinent. Eric Margolis writes about this in War at the Top of the World. Their aspirations are at odds with China and with Pakistan. Pakistan and India are also engaged in an occassionally tense and dangerous stand-off, which could, conceivably, end in nuclear war.

India benefts from a negative view of Islamic countries, and from the perception that terrorism's hot bed is in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and they benefit from a destabilized middle east. India has been accused of running false flag operations in Kashmir, and of attacking their own parliament in an effort to stir anti-Islamic sentiments.

Why attack Spain?

If it looks like Al Qaeda did it, it increases hostility towards arab countries, which gives India breathing room to become the dominant power on the subcontinent.

That white van with the islamic literature inside -- almost too silly to believe -- suggests that's what was happening...a false flag operation.

What's the bigger picture?

Neocolonialism. We could draw a straight line from the way the British exploited India, then withdrew, pitting Muslims and against Hindus, which has resulted in a power struggle, which has allowed fascists to dominate government, which might have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent Spaniards as part of a global struggle for power and profits.

Neoliberalism sucks, as does neocolonialism.

{FSOD: "for sake of discussion", when the facts aren't clear, but when it's worth speculating}

1. Pak ISI head says Jaish-e-Mohammed role in Indian parliament Attack
March 06, 2004 14:56 IST

Ex-ISI head accepts Jaish hand in Parliament attack

Former ISI chief General Javed Ashraf Qazi has blamed the banned militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammad, for the terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament in 2001 and the recent suicide attacks on President Pervez  Musharraf."We must not be afraid of admitting that Jaish was involved in the deaths of thousands of innocent Kashmiris, bombing the Indian Parliament, (journalist) Daniel Pearl's murder and attempts on President Musharraf's life," Qazi said participating in a debate in the senate on Musharraf's address to the joint sitting of Parliament.

Qazi, who served as a senior minister in Musharraf's military government, said both Jaish and the Lashkar-e-Tayiba
have harmed the Kashmir struggle the most.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Qazi) member blamed sectarian outfit, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, for the attacks on minority Shias in Pakistan.

Both Jaish and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are products of a campaign of hatred, he said adding that "they are producing zombies to kill their Muslim brothers," the Daily Times said.
