Dean: Optimist or Pessimist?
Is Howard Dean running a negative, pessimistic race? Is his candidacy not optimistic? If you beleive what's coming out of the pundocracy he is, but I just don't see it.
I would like to see more of the "Vision Thing", but I beleive that will come as he solidifies his place in the top tier and has more media time to work with, but to say he isn't optimistic is baffling.
I find it optimistic to hear someone to stand up and speak directly against B*sh's fear mongering and fascism. I find it optimistic for someone to say let's take reponsibilty for our future and get to work putting our house in order. I find it optimistic for someone to say we're going to take back our country.

2. Dean is Honest
He acknowledges we are at a turning point as a coountry, but doesn't try to scare us to death (unlike the current administration)
He gives his supporters hope.
He is inclusive and a TRUE uniter.

So much more, but he and his campaign make me feel empowered and optimistic.

4. NO

Bask? No, let's all work to get our candidates message out rather than wait like vultures to be the first in line to attack other candidate threads,

6. Pimping?

Why aren't you out pimping for Gephart? Would certainly be a better way to spend your time, I would think...

21. This from a Gephardt supporter?
Gephardt stabbed the Democratic party in the back. He conspired with Bush without even consulting with the rest of the Democratic leadership. Is that what you want for President?

8. Look, the other side is trying to sell...........
this bull that Dean is not optimistic, or funny enough. Nothing could be further from the truth. I guess it isn't just the other side, in fact, some of our own are saying it. Too bad cause this train is leavin' without them. Cya.

10. Dean is the real deal
And I think his race so far is right on target. I am one of the many Americans disgusted by Bush, Inc. I was disgusted even before the war, and I never bought the load of crock he used to sell it to Americans.

I was even more amazed by the incredible silence that resounded everywhere. No opposition? None?

Only a few voices---Dean, Graham.

Dean speaks for me now and he spoke for me then. He is far more than a one-note candidate...anyone who checks out his positions on the issues can see that.

Positive? Negative? Don't know...but right on target? Yep.

12. Hey! Welcome Aboard DU2, no_labels_please!
That's a great first post coming from a Dean Supporter!

And that's how I've been refering to Dean when people are busy trying to "label" him! I say Dean can't be labeled...he's all over the map! He's a maverick and I love that. I'm not the type to support a cookie cutter model.

13. His campaign focuses on empowering people...
To take their country back, to expand healthcare, to reduce the defecit and bring back jobs, to get active in their communities... etc. His announcement speech was called the great American restoration.

Sounds pretty optimistic to me.

14. Look Dean supporters I think Dean is pretty good
but heres this: theres only three things that I can really give him props to, that is he opposed the war, has the right idea about gay rights, and is a fighter, but I see better things in Kucinich, Dean really isnt a populist and thats what we need.

15. The fighter part is the part I like...

I like Kucinich too, but Dean's practicallity speaks more to me then Kucinich's does. Sorry. But good luck anyway. I heard that somewhere Kucinich went over to a Dean table and wished them luck. That's class.

17. I wish them the best of luck too
Well I identify with Kucinich more than I do Dean actually and he speaks to me but Dave if Dean became more of a populist, I would love that very much.

16. What we need,
John, is someone who's a fighter, who speaks the truth, good to great policies, AND who can get elected.

19. well I want a populist Eloriel
thats what makes me a member of the party and the social liberalism too, I honestly feel with the exception of the war, that Kerry is better than Dean, do not flame me, but I've looked at their histories on certain wars, and Kerry seems to be the more dovish. Maybe I am an idealist but you know, I want a populist not someone who will have only a slightly different view on economics.
