History repeating itself
There was this seemingly goodhearted guy that was Vice President who became President. He had a failure of a Presidency and was defeated by a Southern braniac who held office for two terms. This guys kid ran and beat the Democratic candidate in a highly controversial race that parks debate to this day. The President took office with a minority of votes and proceeded to show himself too small for the job. In the next election he was destroyed by the Democratic candidate in a massive repudiation of his Presidency.

The difference between the Admams' and the Bushes is that the Adams were honorable, honest men who just didn't know how to govern.

The Bush's are craven lunatics who don't know how to govern.

3. The elder Adams might have been...
... a goodhearted guy in his letters, but he was still the driving force behind the Alien and Sedition Act....

5. Just remember this...
The first Adams was involved in the MOST important
Presidential election in history!

The first: Washington unanimously
The second: ditto
The third: Adams, Washington's VP
The fourth: Jefferson beats Adams - an Adams went peacefully.
The first where an incumbent left after losing.

Not like all these one man one vote, one time.

AJ
