Rupert Murdoch gets a pass on "decency"
At first I didn't want to post this. I mean, why add more fuel? Why point out "indecency?" But this really bugs me, as Stern is taken off the air for Janet's Boob...

Mad TV.

Granted, it can be damned funny at times, as can Stern. But I saw a rerun during prime time the other evening. Fresh, from a very recent show, judging by the current-events sketches. But the one that raised my hypocrisy flag was "Lord of the Bling: The Two TA TAs," a black version of LOTR.

Funny concept, IMO. The Wizard was Shaq. But instead of a hobbit, the main character was Lil' Kim (I think)...WITH HER BOOB HANGING OUT for the whole sketch! One boob, just like Janet's, nip covered by a crazy-daisy sticker. For the entire sketch. No two-seconds.

Now, showing boobs is great, IMO. Bush gets LOTS of air time, and they don't censor him. But when you realize that FOX broadcasts Mad TV...Fox, of Rupert Murdoch fame...it only make you understand more and more who is pulling the strings in the Bush administration.

Must be the liberal media.

2. I saw that skit
You're going to laugh, but there's a reason that was legit, and JJ's boob was not: the Little Kim sticker actually covered the nipple. JJ's nipple had something surrounding it, but nothing actually covered the nipple. Hence, there was a case.

3. Also...
...while I am not familier with "Mad TV", isn't it on cable? One of those channels you have to pay for to see? If it is Cable has a much bigger pass when it comes to certain things. THe assumpion is that if you paid for the channel you know what it is showing and you can't be offended, or you at least have no grounds to bitch about it.

The Super Bowl was on broadcast TV.

4. Comedy Central syndicates it
It's normally on at 11pm on Saturdays, on broadcast FOX.

5. No, Fox is broadcast TV
That sketch was actually one of the more mild ones. Mad TV is pretty "racy" as the oldtimers say.

6. and it is on 10 at nite

no one wants to stop adults from getting all the stuff they want. there are plenty of avenues to explore all kinds of entertainment. i dont think it is a big deal the stuff we are feeding to kids stays somewhat decent. you would think that would just be a given adults would do in responsibility, but they dont, so there are rules for it.

the jackson thing was the last straw, not the total of the outrage. further the whole dance up to the tit was just as offensive, for kids, not for an adult to see

this is why the right is getting so much backing from middle of road people. there are a lot of parents out there that hear the left say, let all on tv, lets feed all to our kids, and their responsibility is to raise healthy children, and this is not the way. we are making it tons harder to raise kids, for parents and you see it reflected in the parents going to republican.

8. You missed the point
Rupert Murdoch owns Fox, and was specifically one of the prime beneficiaries of Mike Powells media consolidation ruse. He is a big-time republican contributor. His "network" is considered the Howard Stern show of the teevee airways. He broadcasts stuff way worse than the Janet flap...er, flop...every week.

But he is not fined, or even mentioned.

Vote with your remote.

9. i didnt miss the point
and i know who murdoch is, and i am not going to say a nontruth to win an agenda. if i start going after all the adult programming then i sound like an extremsit without any rational and my true beliefs are dismissed with all the silly people flipping with the jackson tit. if we can reduce the arguement to the silliness of one tit for 2 seconds then it helps agenda.

the really ironic i see is the fox channel spouting family values yet more than any news channel i have observed they find some way to put women humping poles whenever possible in their running a story. one night, three stories in a row had naked girls in some kind of degrading position to where it was looking like a porn site. sent everyone on the channel a short email

7. Saw Lil' Kim a while ago...
at some awards show. Interesting dress-- one side was a top and the other a pastie. Undoubtedly, someone at MAD TV saw the same show.

No big outcry that I can remember, but it wasn't an election year.
