1. I didn't go to the poll but...
...which answer is the DU answer?
I don't see any choice but to say it was a victory for the terrorists.

7. see below
"Is the cultural rift that wide that I can't even understand their response to this attack?

A group kills almost 200 innocent citizens, proudly takes credit for it and makes it clear that it's payback for supporting a war on terrorism.

Your response as a people is to basically say; "please don't hit us again and we'll be good little Europeans and not fight terrorism anymore with the great satan."

Sounds like they are virtually asking Al Queda to take up residence in Spain and feel safe and secure. Because we're sure not going to do anything to piss you off.

My study of history, not to mention what I learned on the playground of my misspent youth, says that you don't succeed by appeasing a bully and hoping that he beats you up last or less."

4. How is it a victory for "the terrorists?"
Edited on Mon Mar-15-04 01:09 PM by nu_duer
Looks to me like a pro-war "leader," who knelt before bush and supported an illegal invasion, against the will of the people, has been fired by the people.

How is that a win for the terrorists?

Will it be a win for the terrorists when we fire bush in November?

5. Not supporting a war
on a country that was not involved in terrorism = supporting terrorists?

2. The poll I saw and voted
was in reference to Spanish troops in Iraq and should they withdraw. I voted yes - and yes is actually winning. Did I miss the other poll or did it close?
