Bush Family Follies (new info on Neil and Sharon)

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/172373p-150283c.html

Those bickering Bushes - divorced couple Neil and Sharon - can't help fighting in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair and further embarrassing Neil's big brothers, Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida and President Bush.

Both Sharon and Neil (who last weekend married Houston socialite Maria Andrews) spoke at length to reporter Vicky Ward about their train wreck of a marriage, the role of the first President Bush in their divorce, and the lawsuit that Andrews' ex-husband, Thomas Andrews, has filed against Sharon for claiming that Maria's young son is actually Neil's.

Ward reveals that:

Neil suggested divorce in a May 2002 E-mail: "We're almost out of money and I've lost my patience for being compared to my brothers, for being put down for my inability to make money, and tired of not being loved."

6. Bush family, friends toast happy couple
The deal was sealed in an early-evening ceremony that took place on the flower-decked terrace of the Memorial mansion of Rania and Jamal Daniel, longtime Bush family friends. The Rev. Larry Gipson of St. Martin's Episcopal Church officiated before a gathering of 30 close friends and family.

The petite bride wore a pale pink Ungaro gown and Badgley Mischka evening shoes. Standing with Maria were her older children -- Elizabeth, 12, and Pace, 10. Her youngest, Thomas, who soon turns 3, was on the sidelines with Maria's mother, Martha Manness.

Neil Bush, wearing a dark suit, was joined by Pierce and daughter Ashley, 14. Lauren, his oldest child and a student at Princeton University, did not attend.

Other family members unavailable for the wedding were Neil's brothers -- President George W. Bush, who was occupied with Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who was said to have had pressing business in his home state.

another article snipped..

He said he had met Mr Daniel in about 1989. Mr Daniel's family, Christians originating from northern Syria, is said to have been involved in the founding of the Ba'ath Party and sustained links with it in both Syria and Iraq even after being expelled from Syria in about 1966 after Hafez al-Assad came to power. Mr Daniel has told friends that when he was young Tariq Aziz, later foreign minister of Iraq, was a visitor to the family home.

Mr Daniel attended Pepperdine University in the US and then was awarded an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, before settling down in Houston. With much of his family still in Geneva, where they settled after leaving Syria, he leads the family's US-based wing and represents its businesses there. The family holds a sizeable US property portfolio via a range of interlinked companies - Uniteg, Finial, Carnavon and Grailwood - as well as some energy businesses.

According to businessmen who know him, Mr Daniel boasts connections with the families of the rulers of at least five Middle East countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. At a conference in Washington in April 2000, Mr Daniel was introduced as a person "proud to call President Saleh a friend."

Just which kind of Ba'athist is Mr. Daniel? An "evil doer" or one that's trying to suck as much wealth out of Iraq as possible to line his own pockets, along with those of the Bushes?? Tariq Ali was a visitor to the family home of Mr. Daniel? Mr. Daniel has some interesting connections..
