Poll question: A poll: GOP Veepstakes Poll (this thread is a poll)
Stickin' w/ Dick or cashing in Crashcart? Who else could it be? Rummy? Combover? Powell, the official Bush administration ambassador to the world of the sane? Certainly not Tom Ridge, right? Right?!

Who's gonna be #2 at Ground Zero this summer?

1. They've committed too heavily to him at this point to back down.
One thing about this admin, they really, really hate to back down. It's their "strength" and certainly their weakness.

4. Very good point. However...
If Cheney gets named in the Plame leak, he's toast. This was federal crime and the CIA is out for blood on this. That's why it, among all the administration scandals, is not getting swept under the rug. And his health will give them an easy out for cutting Cheney. If Scooter gets indicted, expect to hear from Cheney's doctors within the month.

There've been plenty of Bush back-downs, from the UN Security Council's "whip count" that Bush insisted on, to the various threats and ultimatums thrown at North Korea over the past three years, to the insistance that we don't need a Homeland Security Department. They're all bluster most of the time, like a barnyard rooster in perpetual "display" mode. If they get a bloody nose on any issue, they run away and start claiming they were on the winning side all along.

2. I voted Cheney
Short of indictment, he'll be on the ticket.

If he has to be jettisoned, I'd wager Condi Rice: a woman, black, & she'll continue to lie for Bush. And he likes her a lot.

5. Her job performance to date probably eliminates her. She has no base
Despite how good a foreign policy tutor she's been for the lad, ultimately the president's personal preferences will not be the deciding factor. She's smart, but fairly inept when it comes to the big power plays.

3. Take a look at their website
It distinctly says "Bush Cheney 2004". This isn't in question at all unless Cheney has another heart attack or some scandal breaks (which isn't unlikely). http://www.georgewbush.com/

Oh, and don't feel bad visiting the site. Bandwith costs them money too.

6. Hmmm, shoulda put "Frist" on the list, but wouldn't Jeb object?
He's planning on running in 08 anyhoo. I doubt Jeb's people (& therefor Poppy's people) want him in that position. Probably the same goes for McCain
