now Carville's ARGUING with Harman about the inspectors being let back in before the invasion.....she's agreeing with Novak that they weren't granted full access BEFORE that, instead of calling dumbo on his huge lies (at least twice) that Saddam didn't let the inspectors in before the war, when, at the time they were RIDICULING Blix, etal for not being able to find anything.

like I think we Californians should start looking around to replace Senator Feinstein because neither are representing the interests of the people anymore. As you know Kerry was not my choice but he will get my vote. I feel good about my vote for Senator Boxer in November and I hope we can get some good candidates to run against entrenched Repug Congressmen in this election and future ones. Then we can take our country back.

because she's on the Intelligence Cmte (I'm almost positive, unless it's Armed Services). IMO, she is dazzled by her access to "top secret" info, and she actually swallows it, wholly crudulous. She problably loves being an "insider"--I mostly gag when she starts talking. I never expect her to criticize *. but you're right. Today on Crossfire was even worse than usual.

Is she from a particularly conservative district? Or are my instincts right, that this is her own self-importance showing? Or, maybe, she's just a super-hawk? But why? To look tough? (Lately, I've been wondering if any Dems are actually moles who were put in place years ago by forward-looking GOP planners. It all started when I had to wonder about Teresa LePore. I know, it's a little paranoid, but....)

I was also appalled that she had no defense of Kerry's being discreet about "naming names" of anti-Bush leaders abroad. She was too coy by half--and appeared to be unwilling to support Kerry. And Novak, of course, noticed and pounced. And STILL she wouldn't say a good word for Kerry!! What is going on here?

I wouldn't call the district conservative. It went Repuke in '94 (when everything did) and then Harman took the seat in either 98 or 00, I can't remember. It's pretty balanced.

The problem are the industries here. Boeing, Northrup-Gruman, Chevron, etc. Oil and defense contractors. Harman gets money from these people, and employees of these companies are in this district. However, they are balanced out by the more urban areas to the east, like Carson and the Harbor Gateway, also Venice Beach and parts of Redondo and Hermosa.

BTW, it is the intelligence committee.
