4. I just saw him on CSPAN
this last weekend, and it reminded me of how reassuring he was! Jeez, you just knew that he understood the issues, CARED about the issues, and knew how to handle things.

OK, so now I'm really, really depressed.....

33. I noticed that, too.
How reassuring he was/is. Particularly when he was speaking about the gay marriage issue. (Summary)- Gays in the military seemed like a huge issue back in the early 90s. We got through that and he's not worried, we'll get through this, too.

HUGE contrast between the divide and conquer, fearmongering of *.

10. Romantico You made my day week month and year
I am so emotional it is difficult to thank you enough.

No human loves Bill Clinton more than I. None.

I am an Historian of 1980's and 1990's with emphasis on Reagan and Clinton.

Bill Clinton is one of the greatest humans ever to reside in the White House.

He truly cared. He was sincere. He was no phony.

His life was devoted to"helping" others better their lives.

Sort of like Mother Teresa and Jesus Christ.

I will post later good things said about Bill Clinton.

What a Human being!

15. Come on, people, the guy was a crooked shyster.
Just because he's a Democrat doesn't mean that he gets a free pass. His administration was just as much a tool of corporate interests as Bush, he's just more intelligent and a better public speaker. Bush was the drunken thug at the frat party who beat up the little guy, while Clinton was the one upstairs with the high school girl. They are both criminals.

54. Actually, we can criticize President Clinton
But, you can't. He certainly is a wonderful man and was a stunning President. Some people just can't get over this. You can start another thread criticizing him, if you want. Don't know how long the thread will last, but you can try.

This thread, however, is not for that purpose. After over three years of *, missing Clinton is a minute by minute thing. Actually, in spite of the worst presidency in history, * sure makes The Big Dog look even more heavenly. I have a brother who is a died-in-the-wool pug who absolutely hated Clinton. The last time he visited, about two months ago, he said he would give anything to see Clinton in the presidency again; he just didn't know how good we had it under Bill.

Unfortunately, he probably didn't realize his and our best dreams for him, because he had crazy right-wing nuts flying around his face, just like gnats, for at least the last two years of his presidency. IMHO, only someone with Clinton's resiliency and intelligence could have survived their attacks.

By the way, there were a few things Clinton and I disagreed on; but, with *, I have yet to find a damn thing I agree with him on. I am hoping that in the future some time I will be sitting down watching a movie about Bill Clinton, starring Bill Clinton, entitled "Big Dog Walking", in which we will all get to see him again as we knew him and felt him. Love to Bill, Hillary and Chelsea, true Americans.

Poor old Al was so scared of being associated with Bill that he didn't even use him against Bush, and didn't campaign on the achievements of the Clinton years. And so we are all condemned to those 4-8 years with the monkey man.

37. The "sins" of Bush's predecessor...
look like kindergarten pranks compared to the abject corruption and real criminal behavior of the current squatters in the White House.

As for Bush's "predecessor", Clinton ultimately will prevail in history as one of America's best presidents. As for personal opinions, either you "get" how much Bill cared for his fellow human beings or you don't. If you do you love him, if you don't... well, that's your problem.

you don't understand the concept of how to participate in a thread. If the clear purpose of a thread is positive commentary on a particular individual, it's rather rude to come in and start slamming that person.

Feel free to start your own thread on a different topic, if you'd like.

and just for good measure,

65. You can lead a Mad Hatter to water...
...but you just can't get them to understand what to do with it.

Let's review, shall we?

Foreign Policy: Clinton made friends and developed relationships while Junior has alienated nearly every country in the world and broken every treaty;

Domestic Policy: Clinton's economy was roaring, Junior's is dying.

Elections: Clinton never had to steal an election...he was legally voted into office;

The Environment: Clinton protected the environment, while Junior never met one he couldn't sell for a rather large profit;

The War Against Terror: Clinton never had to fight one because his people never LIHOP/MIHOP, while Junior pretended to be reading a book for 30 minutes while the WTC burned and crashed;

Civil Rights: Clinton was a big supporter of Civil Rights while Junior has done everything possible to dismantle the Civil Rights Act and Affirmative Action;

Military Service: Clinton never served but was at least honest enough to not join a National Guard unit...Junior joined the Texas Air National Guard, refused to take a flight physical and then went AWOL (which turned into desertion after 30 days);

Spending: Clinton balanced the budget, while Junior has raised the debt ceiling at least five times since occupying the White House;

And then we have the two wars being conducted in the Middle East for completely fabricated reasons...so, tell me again, who's the criminal?

Sorry, this was an article I read a long time ago, don't ask me what publication, 'cause I can't remember. The interviewer sat down in front of his desk, and to make a long story short, he was able to juggle an important-sounding phone call with her interview without missing a beat. Oh yeah, he was also doing the New York Times Sunday Crossword at the same time. Whew! Bush can't even walk and hold on to his dawg at the same time.
