What can you tell me about William Blum?

I just picked up his book today, Killing Hope, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about him? :shrug:

1. 60's liberal
worked in (I think) State Dept & IBM, then got involved in writing for left-wing journals & protesting Vietnam as well as other activist stuff. Carried on the good fight into South America for a while. Interesting bloke & his biography ("West Bloc Dissident") is a good read.

"Killing Hope" & "Rogue State" are depressing reads. I personally wouldn't agree with him on everything he writes, but as left-wing writers go (in the vain of Pilger, Zinn, Parenti, etc) he's solid.

2. I met him last weekend.........

a really nice and engaging person......We talked about his books ( I bought Killing Hope-The Updated Version)and about the situation in Haiti and world politics........he told me that he'll have another book coming out soon ( a collection of his essays).....he has a website....www.killinghope.org........
