Poll question: If you're under 30 years of age, please answer this poll.
How would your vote be influenced if a candidate is known to have supported the anti-war movement during the Vietnam era?

1. The polls so far show:
As of 11:53 am EST:

52% Would vote in favor BECAUSE of Vietnam record.
34% Vietnam record not a factor.
14% Potential freeper lurkers.

(Mods, delete this post if I broke the rules with that last comment. I just couldn't resist. :-) )

2. well
I'd have to agree on the "potential freeper lurkers" thing. What self-respecting Democrat would vote against someone because he was part of the anti-war demonstrations of the 70s?

3. Under 30?? I'm 36 and Vietnam means very little to me...
Remember, there were a bunch of us who were kids during the tail end of Vietnam. It didn't have the effect on us that it did on some...

4. I probably should have said under 35.
But this is giving me a good indication.

I wonder if the stats would be different for the over 35 crowd on this Dem board? (Or mostly Dem board since it's apparent we have visitors.)

5. I'd bet it'd be a little different. My father was in the reserves and
didn't get sent to Vietnam, but he was gone for a few months on some sort of maneuvers. Older than me, you'd probably get some people that has fathers/much older siblings die in Vietnam. Younger that me, probably not. I'd expect the cutoff was somewhere between 34-39.
