Who Is Responsible for The War On Terror
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 11:43 AM by stepnw1f
Is the Bush family, responsible for the 9-11 attack and the current resentment of many Muslims. Let's not skirt this question/issue. I feel the current instability in the world due to terrorism from Al Qaeda, is a result from our oil interests. Would my presumption be far-fetched? I would like to hear from people.

1. No
Al-queda hates anything and everything that supports Israel or doesn't bow down to Muslims. Plain and simple, they want total world domination by Islam. They are radical fundies and their more peaceful brethren should reign them in completely, because if they hit America again, I will depose the president and go after Al-Queda myself.

3. Then there's the other side of the argument
that cites bin Laden's origination by the CIA and the probabilility that he is still funded and controlled by Power Elite overlords and is a tool for Hegelian manipulation of world politics to benefit PNAC hegemonists who wish to install themselves megalomaniacly as the heads of the world government.

5. Your use of at least five 4-syllable words in one sentence automatically..
... makes you subject to charges of being a "conspiracy theorist" and an "intellectual / enemy of the state" (especially by an administration headed by a man who can barely muster a 3-syllable word or two).

Your use of obscure terms such as "Hegelian" and the 7-syllable "megalomaniacly" cinches it.

Sit back and wait for that knock on your door.

9. I am moving from cave to cave every four hours.
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.

4. You need to put this question in historical perspective
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 11:54 AM by bryant69
And then the answer becomes pretty clear. Tensions between the Radical Frinch of Islam (embodied by al-Qaeda) have been in existence since at least the 70's, due in large part to our nations bit partisan support of Israel (which I largely agree with) and our preference for stability over freedom for the people of the middle east (and the rest of the third world, for that matter (which I don't agree with).

President Bush has done as much as he can to deepen that disdain, but he didn't create it.

10. bushler is a mere tool
this has been fomenting since the middle ages, far before the 70's.

Israel has a right to exist. The Likud, however, are criminals, not unlike the PNAC.

7. If it wasn't for our interest in their oil . . .
the Islamists and other terrorists would be fighting each other on camel back in the middle of the desert and we wouldn't pay the slightest bit of attention.

8. I'm sick and tired of MIHOP
Here's my answer:

AL QAEDA DID IT, NOT THE BFEE!

...But the BFEE are in bed with the Saudi royal family, and they're trying to protect them because they've allowed Al Qaeda to grow.

11. Realistically, how do you separate AQ, BFEE and the Sauds?
It's time to call a spade a spade. Pussyfooting gets your plane knocked out of the sky.

12. Where did it come from
I wouldn't go as far as saying that the Bush's are completely responsible for our current situation, but I do believe they have ties to those who are, and have done more to feed this frenzy (intentionally?) than to exterminate it.

Maybe we should look to see which administrations have contributed most to the destabilization of the region, and what benefit was there for them and their cohorts to have it this way (maybe it does better serves our oil interests?). Maybe we are trying to keep them how we keep most of our southern hemisphere neighbors under our thumb, poor and with shoddy useless governments that bend to our will. I guess we cant get as good a hold on the Middle East because, maybe its further away? more people? different culture? Maybe if we could just cram them in factories making our shoes, and clothes they would be easier to control. And while they're distracted we take their oil.

One thing is, if Al Qaeda wanted to create a chaotic war on terror, one that is long, drawn out, and confused. They waited for the most perfect administration to be in place. One that would cause a very effective oscillation between two extremes, with most of us caught in the middle.
