ignorant people against *: good or bad?
we all agree the "sheeple" blindly following * are a bad thing. However we often forget there are lots of people who hate * for equally stupid reasons, such as that they have a crush on a girl who hates him, most people in their community hate him and they want to fit in, or the stuff that we make fun of him for but aren't the real problems with him, such as that he speaks at a third grade level.

I actually have once talked to someone who had some of the most neandrathalic views on some issues, such as immigration and welfare. he wasn't really racist but did believe that whites were now facing institutionalized reverse racism and all that bullshit. He didn't have a problem with what * did to Iraq and said pretty bad things about anti-war protestors. He was pretty pro-gun, not exactly neandrathalic but not a liberal stance either. He was technically pro-choice and pro-gay marriage, but this was a more passive stance in that he wasn't neccesarily opposed to abortion or gay marriage because he didn't view either one as a threat to him. And he still considered himself a Democrat for practically no other reason than that he's an atheist, and hates * and will vote to get rid of him.

We obviously don't like people like this being on our side, or people who aren't quite as neandrathalic but still hate * for rather petty reasons. Anti-* sheeple in a nutshell. But are they a lesser problem than the pro-* sheeple, or just another sign of the problem which may bring short term benefit but trouble in the long run?

1. While the intention is good on that one...
Personally, I don't think ANYBODY who votes AGAINST Dub could be called "ignorant"; just those who vote for him!

B-)

2. I am all for IAB (igrnoance against bush)
Did you see the thread earlier this week (or maybe it was somewhere else) that the right wing christian convservative judge who was thrown out of being a judge for keeping the 10 commandments is gonna run for president?

Think of all the right wing christian conservative idiots who will vote for him instead of Bush.

ANYBODY BUT BUSH goes for the repukes too.

but i don't think you can ever get away from it. i just assume that the majority of people who are on "my side" are not on it for the same reasons. and, in fact, many of their reasons are just as irrational as those driving most people to vote for bush.

5. What do you expect in a country with outrageously
high functional illiteracy rates. When the U.S. tax forms are too complicated for 10-30% (depending on the region) of US citizens to complete, how do you expect them to be able to figure out who to vote for?

7. A vote is a vote......
People vote for all kinds of crazy reasons; how person looks, if they seemed nice on TV, what region they're from, even simply party affiliation.

The key is to have better propaganda.
